Ruabon Medical Centre

Shocking once again, my partner had been trying for a day and a half to get hold of them for an emergency appointment he kept ringing and ringing and nothing. After being on hold for 15 minutes he didnt have to give up the phone just cut off! So he went in there and the waiting room was empty abd receptionist just sitting there drinking a cup of tea, not a care in world then to be told its unlikely he will get an appointment the next day because theres only 1 gp working!

Honestly the worst doctors I have ever been to! The receptionist needs some training in costumer care and should come down from there power trip, and phoning a doctors office excepting there to be a doctor to get told there not in on Mondays is absolutely ridiculous, I understand they have a lot of other patients to see so maybe instead of closing for an our for there lunch they could take turns like normal work places so the whole place doesn’t have to come to a complete stop! And you shouldn’t leave somewhere that’s supposed to be helping you feel like the medical centre don’t seem to care about helping their patients

Practice wasn’t in a good place but seems to have really improved. Phone was answered quickly, was offered an appointment in a reasonable timeframe, doctor was really good, needed blood taken which they were able to fit in shortly after my initial appointment.

Very impressive service. Called up today to get an emergency appointment for my 3 year old. Called around 1pm & they managed to him in just after 4pm! There was a long wait to see our doctor but given the time of year & cut backs I really didn't mind. Doctor was respectful & didn't rush me, taking my concerns on board. Good service.

Doctors do not listen to you. If you are overweight that is all they will talk about. Was told I should be starving myself if I thought I had a risk of diabetes and that I was too plump to be worth treating as it wouldn’t help me unless I was thinner. I understand weight is an issue but it isn’t everything and I expect to be treated as a human in need of medical attention not a piece of fat.

For a system that has become 100% dependant on telephone calls, it is almost impossible to get a receptionist to answer the phone. Any good work done (of which there is plenty) is negated by the overwhelming failures of not being able to answer the phone. The system is currently in need of an immediate overhall and until this is done it doesn't even justify the minimum 1 star review allowed.

Almost impossible to get through to a receptionist. The answer machine message goes in for at least 5 minutes, then transfers you to yet another recorded message for at least 10 minutes telling you how important you are and how you won't be kept waiting for long, all while your telephone bill is costing a fortune. Then told to ring again as all appointments are full. No wonder there's a queue at A&E!

Would give it less if possible. Spend ages waiting for phones to be turned on then ages again on hold just to try to get an appointment for 2 weeks later if your lucky.Can only book an appointment for 2 weeks times and has to be 2 weeks from that exact day not 3 weeks or 2 weeks and 1 day etc so if you don't get one have to try again next day. Ridiculous system. NHS always bad under Tories but now is just a joke.

USE ANOTHER GP SERVICE- RUABON WILL WASTE YOUR TIMETried to get my holiday vaccines booked for months, was told by receptionist that I had to transfer doctors from my uni one to my home address. Filled in the vaccination form twice as they lost my first form. Finally tried to book an appointment with the nurse only for them to turn around and say they don’t do holiday vaccines anymore!Waste of 3 months I need them asap :/ not impressed at all.(2nd review):Been double booked my appointment TWICE and now waiting 8 weeks for my breathing tests. The nurse came with me to reception to re-book my appointment after being double booked (to ensure it wouldn’t happen again) and have been double booked YET AGAIN.Wasted 2 days of my annual leave to get these tests done, all to be spent bouncing back and forth from the doctors for no reason.Also, on top of this, I went in for a breathing test, and out of the blue the nurse tríese to take my bloods. I told her that I wouldn’t have them, (as I often faint, and only have them if I 100% need them). Only for her to unprofessionally roll her eyes at me and tell me that she’s “perfectly qualified to take them you know”. Where she thinks my cough is anemia (doctor hasn’t once mentioned anything about issues with my blood or anemia in the last 5 sessions with the GP) and I have no symptoms of anemia.

Today was walking past and spotted a lovely lady working at the Medical Centre. I mentioned I had my booster next week. She then said they would be able to fit me in. Half an hour later, I was sat there waiting to leave after having my booster. Was such a well organised set up, very clean and lots of staff on hand. We'll done Ruabon doctors xx
