The food can be delicious when you manage to get it fresh and hot. Occasionally though you end up with barely warm fries that just taste awful. Sometimes your order gets lost from the till to the kitchen directly behind it and you end up waiting way longer than you should until you see the person who came in after you get the same thing you ordered before you and you remind the staff of your order, then it's just another 5-10 minutes from then.Overall I usually have a better experience than not but the place could use a little brightening up rather than looking like it's back in the 90's with a dreary grim yellow hue to it.

We absolutely love the Fries from here. Chip spice and garlic mayo are the perfect combo.Staff are always friendly, we were served by a really lovely lady today called Alex.

Get the chips. The chip spice here and chips are literally the best in Hull. SO addictive. Burgers are good as well but get the chips with the chip spice and a dip

I use to love coming here, came tonight tho and wish I’d not bothered. Ordered chicken nuggets, 2x chips and a double chicken burger. The lady serving was friendly and polite. The shop is clean and presentable. When she asked me did I want sauce on my cheeseburger? I said I don’t order a cheeseburger I ordered a double chicken burger. She apologised and had a chicken burger made for me.The chips were dry and far too much chip salt on, the chicken nuggets were also covered in chip spice and the chicken burger was very bland.

What an absolute rip off. Decided to drive from work on my lunch half hour for a treat. Went for the spicy chicken fillet burger with fries no drink. However the girl at the till found it confusing that I didn't want a drink with my meal. It took her that long to work it out I just told her to give me a banana milkshake if that was part of the deal. Got back to work late then tucked in. Chips were overcooked, and the burger had grey chicken, overcooked, dry and no spice at all. It was just a plain chicken burger. The 'banana mikshake was just milk, no banana flavour at all.Well overpriced, I could have had a gourmet meal elsewhere for the price. Such a shame as Yankeeland is iconic in Hull.

Back in the 60s all the way until the early 2000s, if you wanted a Burger in Hull you went to Yankee Burger. From its Jameson Street origins to the iconic drive through with the pink Corvette on Hessle Road, Yankee Burger was an iconic venue in Hull. When it closed, hearts were broken but a few imitators stepped in to fill the gap. Yankeeland is probably the best of them but it isn’t living up to its potential.Located at a prime spot on the corner of Storey St. & Prospect St, Yankeeland should be the American Dinner experience in the City Centre but the decor is starting to look dated and the burgers have been surpassed some big players in the Hull like Dope Burger, Beast Burger etc.The burgers are fine, made better by the abundance of choices of sauces and relish but it is the burgers themselves that let the experience down. They feel shop bought and not hand made like the Premium burgers available from other takeaways. Hand made beef patties from fresh ingredients, shaped or smashed is what Burger fans expect now from independents. The highlight however and a FIVE STAR experience every time are the fries. Cooked to perfection, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, the fries are covered in American Chip Spice, a tradition in Hull and are just superb.Yankeeland has the potential to be something more than it is. With a little investment in better ingredients and time to prepare the burgers fresh on site, Yankeeland could be what Yankee Burger was to a whole new generation. The Fries are HIGHLY recommended though!

Had a delivery through just eat. I asked for garlic mayo on my chips. Hardly any on, you'd be lucky to spot any on there. Too much chip spice. Won't recommend this place one bit. Never again will I ever order from here.

It is a great little place. The staff are friendly and polite. The prices are reasonable. The food is good quality and tasty. Theres a good range of food, drinks and sauces to choose from. The seating area is cleaned regularly, and the bathrooms are kept clean and tidy.

Really busy Saturday lunch time but managed to find a table and was served within a reasonable time. We love the spicy chips. Reasonable priced too
