Build-A-Bear Workshop

I visited the Meadowhall store yesterday with my 8 year old daughter. We bought a bear and an outfit. Today she asked to return to buy a second outfit. Along we went with her frog bear in tow. We were greeted by a great guy called Ryan. Ryan made my daughters visit to the store as magical as a child could imagine. He helped her try outfits on her frog to make sure she was happy with it. He shown her many different combinations and all with a huge smile on his face throughout. She was so happy when she left the store she even ran to Ryan and gave home a huge hug. People like Ryan are what makes a difference to a child’s visit.

Absolutely appalled by what was going on in this store tonight. On arriving we were told 'any teddy on the bottom shelf with a red tag is £10' could not have been more clear. We didn't go in with the intention of getting a Teddy but at £10 thought why not. Instead of looking at the more expensive (and more appealing) teds we went for the £10 range. So the Teddy gets stuffed and clothed. Took to the counter, 'that's £32 please'. Why? Because they didn't tell us its part of an offer with a full priced Teddy. This also happened to an old gentleman and what I presume was his granddaughter, he preceeded to take the teddy back after learning the real price. So was this spiel planned to get more sales, or did half of your staff actually think there was a sale on the teddy's... fuming doesn't come close to how me and my partner felt, but not wanting to upset our daughter, who had already overheard the price, we left with one expensive teddy. Absolutely disgusting sale tactics over a stuffed toy! Who would have thought it! If you're the manager of this store you've either trained your staff a little too well In the art of 'sales', or they've had no training whatsoever and don't know the prices of a teddy in the shop they work at. Unbelievable.

Took my daughter to this place, not knowing what to expect or prices. I thought price to have a bear made from scratch was decent (I was expecting more!!!), had a fun time, it was busy on the weekend but when isn't meadowhall at the weekend!Lots of different outfits, shoes, wheelchairs, bags and a big variation of accessories to choose from!Really enjoyed and will be coming again!!!And also can make a birth certificate for your creation and our bear is called candy floss!!!

Today the manager and till staff at this store completely made our day through kindness ! They went out of their way to help us after we misplaced our build a bear bag with presents for our granddaughter we left the store shocked with the kindness and helpfulness from the staff at this store! We now have a very happy granddaughter! We can’t thank you enough

Amazing experience for my little one. The greeter was super accommodating, the filler was very interactive with my daughter and she left feeling it was HER moment.Well done all staff here.5☆☆☆☆☆

Took my 1997 original label Lil' Bunny to be totally re-stuffed due to storage smell I simply couldn't wash out. Staff greeted Lil' Bunny and I very politely and arranged for my bear to be hand stuffed, probably due to it being a Saturday and the massive queue of children waiting at the stuffing station. Whilst my bear was in A&E I browsed around the shop, such lovely items for bears these days. I should have really made a list of the things I now want. It didn't seem to take that long before Lil' Bunny was all fixed. Again lovely staff and lovely workshop which I can now add to my passport. I will of course be back on Halloween for obvious reasons. xXx

Staff very helpful. I needed a new certificate printing for my purchase.The one in the box on delivery was really creased. No care when packing4 emails and a phone call later (total of 6wks) I was told you can call to your local branch to get one printed!! (At my inconvenience I hasten to add)Very poor customer service

Very good experience. Lots of teddy's to choose from which range in price. Staff were really great and very inclusive to the children making it a good experience. Well worth a visit.

Absolutely disgusted with the ‘so called’ supervisor. One of the workers referred me to her and she had an appalling attitude with me. She snatched the bear out of my hand when asked to stitch a hole as if it was an inconvenience to her. I asked after a 10 minute wait how long the bear would be, not out of frustration out of curiosity. The worker went into the back and left the door open slightly, from this I could hear “it’s a bear for god sake, tell her to wait.” I feel this was unreasonable to say as I did not have an attitude nor was I getting frustrated, I was just wondering as I wasn’t told how long it would be before. Won’t be coming here again!! Lost a customer!!!

Its ideal for kids!I dont think the layout is right, you walk round the shop to pick your teddy then you walk back to the begining to stuff it, then depending on how busy it is, you may be walking back to the other end.... again.Makes more sense to organise the shop in a loop....pick, pack, pay, leave. Maybe its just me.Staff are wonderful and great with kidsRecomended and worth a visit
