Absolutely beautiful open well drained common land off this tarmac car park, gorgeous place to take a long or short walk, many trails, lots of wildlife, good for dogs .Highly recommended

Multiple parking areas, great for wheelchairs, dogs allowed. So many routes to walk, it's just perfect for dog walkers or family walks really.

This is a beautiful place to take the dog for a walk or just have a stroll around the woods and trails.Some people leave their mess and they know who they are which spoils the place slightly.This isn't the only carpark, there are a few around the site itself.You might find an ice cream van there sometimes too.If you want to pass away a couple of hours in the countryside, it's an ideal place to go and not too far out from the towns.

Fun and jinx with my girl friend Rosie. She's getting on a bit and does smell horrid. Also walked with my exuberant sprocker followed by a cooling 99 at the car park from the snack van. Blew more of the Pension loot. Thanks Millenials. Wonderful place to see nature.

Great location to Park up and go for walks on the common. Very popular with dog walkers and families. The state of this car park however is poor and in need of repair.

As carparks go its ok but for personal reflection and even a spot of star gazing or wildlife watching its as good a place as you will find to stat great place to start a dog walk too the spanial loves it

This common has only a thin top soil, with a sandy sub soil. That means even if it has rained heavily, recently there isn't much mud. Unless you venture into one of the wooded areas. Perfect for dog walking all year round.

Birches Coppice car park - Highgate Common
There is a modest uneven car park here, which can be muddy, and at busy times can fill up. It is free, and you can easily access either open or woodland walks from here. Very popular with dog walkers. In fact, it is unusual to see walkers without dogs.
