Lovely place to visit. Even better now, since the Avenue Waggonway has been cleared of the overhanging trees. It's less than 3 miles walk (each way) from Monkseaton Station to the bird viewing hut at the pond .. surely worth a trip.

Fantastic location to take your dogs me and my three sausage dogs took a little panic biscuits crisp duck and a few slices of chicken. We got there in the morning and stayed there till the sunset. Very romantic

Nice pond that's part of the local nature reserve. Although the pond is off limits, the walks around and up to the area are very nice.
