We were after a hotel for 5 days so we had somewhere to stay when we came down from Scotland to visit family, it was the cheapest we could find in the areas we were looking in.We weren't expecting much for the price, staff we met were really friendly, room was a decent size and reasonably clean, although it was definitely in need of a refresh and the TV was the size of a postage stamp. Bed was a little hard for my liking but still relatively comfy, room lacked enough plug sockets for us and was a little warm, especially after a 9hr drive from Scotland, but a quick trip to reception and we got an extension lead and fan.Breakfast was quite good, not a huge portion, but was tasty and good value for money, the lady serving was really friendly as well.Only needed somewhere to rest our heads for the night and this fitted the bill nicely, don't come here expecting the ritz or even Premier Inn, cause you'll leave disappointed, but if your after a cheap place to rest your head of a night, this isn't really a bad choice.

5 min walk from Prospect park. Great for a gig. Rooms are basic but everything you need. Service was amazing, the manager went out of his way to keep us happy, breakfast included and was tasty!

All staff members are so friendly and helpful. I had to wake Garrah up at 4am when I popped out for a ciggy. I was so surprised to get a sweet smile as he let me in. Not sure that I could keep up such wonderful customer service at that time in the morning. Nothing is too much for these guys. I feel safe knowing that they are around and the lady that works at night, Annemarie, is so welcoming and kind and cooks an amazing breakfast. This is an old hotel and the decor is not modern but it has character and the wonderful staff make it a great place to stay .

Really gross hotel unfortunately, there was hair in my bed from a previous guest, the room smelled like damp and there was visible mold in the mirror, the carpet was wet to the point that my socks got wet too. Positives: absolutely lovely person working in the reception, shower was warm, sink in the room allowed me to brush teeth in the room instead of shared toilets/bathroom. Bed was comfortable. Was able to check in late in the night after the reading festival.Despite the positives, exected better for a 3 star hotel that cost nearly 50 pounds a night - have stayed in way nicer hostels for way less money.

It's dated yes. But a decent bed, coffee and tea in room and very clean. Staff very polite. Very good value for money, good location in quiet but safe area. Cannot complain. If I need I will come back there.

Exactely what it says on the tin. A budget hotel with no frills. Service at reception was warm and friendly. Hotel a bit run down but clean. Room compact but functional. Had a kettle and selection of tea and coffee. Shower OK but lacking in power, toilet kept running for a long time after I'd flushed it. Room very clean, bring your own pillow - only one supplied and was very thin. Free parking. Overall good value for money and I would stay again if in the area

Described as 'Passable' you never really know how bad it could be. I was pleasantly surprised, it's definitely rough on the edges and not exactly holiday worthy but it's a very functional cheap and cheerful hotel. Staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. A side note, someone in our group slipped on some loose carpet and the stairs were steep and narrow(it's an oldish building (pretty quirky)). It didn't really affect us, we're young and fit but something to think about. Good value for money
