Pontypool Aldi, lovely wide isles, great staff, not sure why you need doors on all the units makes it more difficult than necessary to shop especially if your trolley is in someone's way. I won't be going there at peak times.

I bought some flowers and when I got them home they looked as if they were already past their best. Not impressed. Carrier bags have been moved off the shelves and are kept with the cashiers due to people stealing them!""

Easy access to parking although leaving car park to pull out onto a roundabout can take time especially after 4pm. Plenty of Christmas decorations and special offers in store

Awful experience at Aldi today. I came here with my mother, who went to the till with her trolley and I went to self checkout. I bought my items faster than my mother bought hers, and waited at the window for her to be served. Before she was served I put my items under the trolley as they were very heavy, and I asked her loudly if she wouldn’t mind for the cashier to hear before putting them under the trolley. She paid and as we were walking out, the 6ft bulky cashier came running after us shouting “you didn’t pay for those items under your trolley!” and I looked around to see everyone at a standstill glaring at my family. I obviously pulled out my reciept and told him I paid at self serve, and without even an apology he rudely said “You would’ve shown me before.” Excuse me? I paid for my items, I don’t have to ask to put them in the trolley! He would’ve been me waiting with them before he served my mother as well as watched me out them under right in front of him. I can understand why he thought they may have been stolen, but it was the blatant accusations instead of a simple “do you have the receipt for that?”. I cant believe I was accused of such an act, was embarrassed in front of the entire store, and did not even receive an apology. Also really needs to train its staff on how to approach people who they think are potential thieves, as I felt intimidated as I am only a young woman and I was straight up accused of a crime I didn’t commit by a huge 6ft bulky man. I wouldn’t have minded if he asked for my receipt, but he came hounding after my family shouting these accusations. I’ll never visit Pontypool Aldi again to avoid future embarassment. For those shopping, remember to ASK to put YOUR items in the trolley before doing so!

Generally well stocked, fair pricing. Ample parking at this site and customer toilet which is kept in good clean condition.Only dropped a star because the store sometimes has large gaps in stock (I imagine this is more an Aldi chain issue than store issue).

Excellent and much better than having to go all the way to Cwmbran

Aldi is a good place to shop, however am finding it is getting more expensive. Also, deducted stars as they don't offer any motorised disabled wheelchairs and so cuts off a lot of disabled customers.

The store was very clean and the staff were helpful and friendly

Friendly helpful staff, great food. But the prices are starting to creep up ever so slightly.

Really good supermarket it has a massive range of products. Quality food, quality items, really helpful staff. Really good pricing much cheaper than other supermarkets and more choices. Wonderful shopping experience highly recommend a visit here
