I absolutly love this place. You never know quite wat is going to be available on the day, but this has actually changed my eating habitsRather than getting the same thing week in week out I get my 'lucky bags'And think to my self... oooh what can I make today. Much like ready steady cook with yellow stickers on :-)Great to know I am doing my bit to reduce food waste, but the money I save means I can treat myself when i buy the extra food I need to turn it Into a full week's shoppingThe team are super

This is a distribution outlet for excess supermarket food stocks. It opens 2or 3 times a week for about 2 hours. This is publicised on Facebook and their website, but is usually Weds & Fri 2-4pm. Best to go early to have a pick of the extras available. A fixed fee of £4 gets you 3 bags full - 1x bread, 1xassorted veg and 1x miscellaneous, e.g soups, snack biscuits. These are pre packed and you don't know exactly what's in the bags as it varies with whatever stocks they have at the time. They have frozen and chilled produce for purchase as extras, e.g meats, yogurts, curries, milk and eggs. The staff are friendly and generous and I understand the proceeds are going towards opening a drop in cafe, subsidised or free at the back of the shop and opening up inside for the same. It's a great local initiative in an area of high unemployment. Well done to them!
