Royal Troon Golf Club

Staff welcoming from arrival until we left. Dogs welcomed in the lounge bar much appreciated. Loved the decor.If anything, fruit scone arrived toasted and hard. Wouldn't stop me returning.

As good as a golf course can be

I had a great time playing golf at Royal Troon Golf Club. The course is in excellent condition

Sadly, this rating reflects the treatment we received at the golf club, not at the hotel itself. The service at the hotel was fantastic as were the staff that attended to usWe visited Scotland/Ireland for a golf vacation and played some incredible, world-class courses. We didn't have the time to play at Troon but decided to stay one night on our way back to Edinburgh where we were flying out the following day.Shortly after checking-in and settling in we walked the property and entered the clubhouse. We entered the dining area and asked if we could have a drink there to enjoy the view of the course. A middle-aged gentleman walked towards us and abruptly said no" and stated the dining area was for members only and told us "you need to leave". We were never asked if we were members or if we had golfed there. We were just met with extremely rude behavior and are disappointed at the sexist and racist behavior exhibited to us."

Outstanding golf course. Great condition and wonderful hospitality for visitors day. Many great holes and it was windy, so it played ery hard.

This is a must play course. Very different than US golf. Bunkers are very challenging but worth the experience.

I had the absolute pleasure of playing Royal Troon on the 2nd May . My son had arranged to play as a celebration of my 60th birthday. The level of customer service at every touch point from the moment we arrived is the best I have ever known . Despite the many players , my son and I were treated as though we were the most important by every member of the team . I had the most memorable day and cannot recommend enough for anyone thinking of playing here . Hoping one day we will get the pleasure of playing again . Thankyou to everyone from pro shop staff , catering staff , starter and the gentlemen on the desk within clubhouse who helped make my 60th celebration at Royal Troon a day to remember.

One of the best places for food and coffee in Troon. Overnight stay is wonderful too.Great staff, beautiful hotel.
