Loch Ness Lodge Hotel

Our family traveled to Scotland and wanted to see the highland mountains. The Loch Ness lodge was a perfect middle spot. The service and food was amazing. The hotel is older, but very cozy. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. We enjoyed relaxing in the restaurant and the staff was very helpful when our car got a flat.

Booked the hotel expecting a cute and quaint place to stay. The overall hotel in the public areas was very clean. The breakfast had great options! The staff were also friendly.It’s located right next door to Nessie land, which would be super convenient for families!The rooms left much to be desired. We stayed in the orchard wing. The showers were basically unusable, dramatically changing temperature from scalding hot to freezing cold on its own and dropping water pressure to only a dribble. There was mold in places in the room, and wall finishing a falling down. The hotel was booked full due to a tour bus coming through, so the shower issues may have been from the full bus of young adults all showering at the same time? Either way, would have rather spent a bit more for a hotel or B&B nearby that had a working shower.The restaurant needs reservations for dinner. When we arrived at the hotel and checked in around 7:00pmish, the restaurant had already been booked full.

The room was horrible! It smelt of old socks and mould. The lady at the check in was incredibly positive and kind as she was describing her 5 star continental breakfast which was mainly cheap white toast and yogurt. On the first night they said they could not serve us as there was a party of 50 people in room next door so all we had was a lemonade for dinner. When we got to the bar we were greeted by a grumpy old man who just grunted at us.

You can tell that this hotel was amazing decades ago. The problem is that nothing much has seemed to change. The staff were lovely and very kind and the entrance was beautiful. We stayed in the orchard wing and it was a bit sad. Everything just looked old and off. We are used to staying in older hotels that have their quaint charm but this was not one of them. There were spiders and spiderwebs in the shower which didn't end up being much of a problem as we weren't in there long. the shower did not regulate temperature at all so the water would go from scalding to freezing and back to scalding every 20 seconds unless you had it on pure cold only. The wallpaper was dingy and textured enough to make me wonder if it had been cleaned in a decade. The room also had a slightly damp old place smell. I think this hotel has a ridiculous amount of potential as it is gorgeous, but it just needs a lot of work put in to be brought into this century. The breakfast was really good at least.

What a pleasant surprise! My wife and I had never been to Drumnadrochit before and this hotel was a random choice, more or less. We'll know where to go not just in Drumnadrochit, but also in the whole Loch Ness area now. The staff in both the hotel and restaurant were helpful and charming, mixing local knowledge with international experience and great language skills, which makes it easier for foreign tourists. The restaurant is designed in a surprisingly tasteful Highland Fantasia" style and the food is excellent. My wife said it was the best Scottish food she had ever had! (We had the haddock and the salmon.) Moreover

This is a little gem. Yes it’s not a 5 star hotel, so don’t turn up expecting one like some other reviews.The staff are helpful and the owner at a grand age is behind the bar with his wife helping along. Proper dedication.The food is lovely. Breakfast is excellent! So just take the hotel for what it is and you’ll love it!

A lovely place! The hotel has a great warm atmosphere, the staff is really nice, the food is really well prepared and tasty! Keep in mind it is an old building, but this gives it an additional charm. I recommend this place and I would come back here 100%.

Rooms could do with a decent hoovering. However hotel is still a classic Highland one so pretty much what i expected. Situated in a great wee place. The staff were wonderful and really nice people to deal with.

Do not go here!I don't have the energy to describe all but let me remain factual. One out off six staff members was friendly. Walls are paper thin. We had lots of spiders and a snail(!) In our bedroom. Everything is severely outdated (30-50 years old it feels like). Water temperatures are steaming hot and freezing cold. WiFi only in small common area. In the restaurant we had to wait 2 hours between ordering and actually getting the food. There were 3 old waiters, 1 nearly blind, 1 over 90 (and as expected acting like it) and 1 couldn't speak any west European language. It was tasty but not much for the cost.Breakfast was also meager, some toasts, oatmeal and 60% of what I would've called a full continental breakfast".Again would not recommend the rooms

Don’t let the outside fool you! Once you get inside it, reeks of old, musty, moldy atmosphere. Our room in the bathroom was dirty the shower curtain had mold on it the water was either scalding, hot or freezing cold without notice! Our beds I feel like haven’t been changed since 1972. The carpet is pathetic. The breakfast was just OK nothing to brag about, would I stay here again absolutely not
