Shannon Court Nursing Home

Mum passed away in this home, visiting her was only allowed at end of life,we had never been inside previously, I cannot get the room she was in out of my head, it was worse than a prison cell...the carers were excellent but they can only work with what they have and are not responsible for the rooms. If we could have gone in to visit the place initially we would never have put mum there. There is one carer there that was dismissed from another care home because she was a thief. Don't know how she wiggled her way in here.

We’ve not been in our mums room yet because of covid, but the staff took pictures of it and it looks really homely in there. Looks nothing like a prison cell, not sure what prison that other person went too! Staff are great, always on the phone with Tracey and Sam.

What a lovely caring home Shannon Court is. My mother in law is a resident there and staff are really caring the whole place is bright and airy smells lovely the minute you walk into the place.the food is very well presented and she loves it.The rooms are spacious and very homely. Would highly recommend to anyone 100% with everything..

My mother has been at Shannon Court for many years now and her care has been amazing the staff know" who she is and what her specific needs are these are always met with professionalism

My mum went in shannon court last year .August she had vascular dementia.Due to covid we couldn't go in and see her which was perfectly fair as other people were in the same boat as us. My mum died in this place and when we went to collect her things and took them home a lot of her personal things had gone it took us over a week and threating to bring the police in for theft within 20 mins it was found . Some if the staff were lovely like sam and Tracy . This place is the pits .

I want to thank all the staff (lantern) and sam for not just looking after my mother in law but helping and supporting us.She was always smiling and laughing with staff, feed well and any health issues where dealt with immediately.Sam helped me when I was struggleing with zoom and with booking the pod visits.We are sad that we will no longer be going due to mum passing but wanted to let the staff and others know how wonderful they all are.

Just want to say that today l was shocked when I walked into your care home. It was beautiful. Came to visit an old friend of the family with my mum & her son. My mum & myself want to thank you for looking after our friend. So please don't change the way you do what you do.Thank you.

I visited an ex neighbour a few weeks ago who had been in there for a couple of months due to dementia. I left in tears. I was overwhelmed with sadness and neglect. The staff I saw seemed apathetic. The residents sat around staring into space, some half dressed, some with no teeth in, just shuffling about literally like zombies. I saw two staff carers having a lovely afternoon painting away crafting at a table while the three residents with them were just sat there staring. No conversation. No interaction at all. One man had fallen asleep in the dining room long after everyone else had eaten. He was just left. Not one staff member checked on him while I was there. Understaffing or whatever reason they'd plead is no excuse for taking these poor people's money and leaving them like that. I didn't see the bedrooms so cannot comment. I was so upset when I left, couldn't stop crying. If you have relatives in here, PLEASE visit them often. These dementia sufferers need mental stimulation and they are receiving NONE. Awful.

This place is horrendous. No care whatsoever. The elderly walk around like zombies with too much medication.staff are not interested. This is supposed to be a care home. No care at all. Wouldn't put an animal here never mind a parent.
