What a wonderful experience! Great food & drinks and top class service from start to finish. We visited The Boot on 05 July ‘23 for lunch whilst on holiday and will definitely be returning when next in the area. We recently ate Sunday lunch at The Boot and I have to say that the roast pork was one of the best I’ve had in many a meal. The service was really good and will be going back to try the rest of the menu. Congratulations.

I first went to The Boot in June and had the best lamb I have ever had. Unfortunately the beef wellington was sold out. I waited 6 months to have the beef wellington and it was worth the wait! Best beef wellington I have ever had. The Boot is honestly on the top of my list of Cotswold restaurants and we have been to most of them. Highly recommend! The staff is also really lovely!

Very welcoming. Staff were excellent, menu was superb and the atmosphere was fantastic on a lovely sunny Sunday. Even without a reservation they made space for us and were incredibly accommodating for our family of 4. The food was exceptional and the whole experience was just what we were looking for. Will definitely be back and recommending as the pub to go to!

Recently had dinner at The Boot while visiting the Cotswolds and had a great experience. The atmosphere of the restaurant is so cozy and the food was delicious. My wife and I split the beef wellington and it was delicious. If you are near Barnsley you should consider having a meal at The Boot!

I didn't stay in a room. But had the beef wellington. Amazing flavour. Perfectly cooked beef. And the boot shaped pastry cut-out to top it off was a nice touch. It was clear they take pride in the dish.The menu says it serves 2 but the portions could have served 3 adults.

Poor service; flat lager.Out for a quick bike ride and stopped half way for a drink. 1 Peroni top ordered and it was clearly flat when being poured. I raised the flat lager with the barman having then tried it. “it was probably the lemonade that made it less fizzy.” No lemonade had been added by this point. He then tried it, “tastes fizzy to me”, is what I got back - rather than going to check the gas like I suggested. It wasn’t busy at all either, so no reason to not.In that 2 minute exchange, 25 years in hospitality management told me enough about this place. Didn’t finish the drink.We’re staying down the road at Wild Thyme & Honey; exceptional service, food and drinks.Shan’t be going back to The Boot, nor recommending it simply based on that experience.

Great meal and wonderful service..Just popped in on the off chance in the hope of a bite to eat. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Maybe a few more main dishes could be added to the menu?

I gave them some feedback via email to which I never heard back so can only assume they really don't care, which is a real shame. We pre-ordered as requested and then waited for over an hour to receive our starters. The service was really quite poor, but we appreciative of you accommodating 9 of us. The food, as always was excellent.We returned today as a party of 4, thinking the wait times wouldn’t be as bad again, but we experienced over an hour wait for the starters (parfait, mackerel pate, and bread) all of which I assume are prepared ahead of time. While waiting other tables (who arrived & ordered after us) were served their main courses. We were also informed that no cocktails were available which included the Sunday Bloody Mary. We watched as another table got up and left because they to had been waiting for over an hour.Our main courses eventually showed up, but they weren’t great, felt they’d been sitting around under heat lights for a while.I understand businesses are struggling with staff, but it’s unfair on those staff members working and to your customers to continue lunch services if you cannot maintain your standards. It literally left us with a pretty bad taste in our mouths. I did attempt to speak to someone who looked to be a manager, but he rather sheepishly shrugged his shoulders and claimed he was just passing through…We’ve ranted and raved about how great The Boot has been since it’s relaunch, but think you really need to consider either not opening or culling your menus (beyond just the bloody Mary’s), possibly just serve a main course and bread if it’s too much for your staff to manage? The food itself was great however the service was appalling! Had to go to the bar to get drinks as had nearly finished main before they arrived then once done we were left at the table with our empty plates for half hour while they chatted amongst themselves ignored us. Others around us had meals delivered and cleared while we were waiting! We ended up having to go pay at the bar as no one came to offer us desert or even the bill. When we finally saw the bill they had added a bottle of wine that we didn’t get and a charge for service that we didn’t receive either! The poor staff really let down what could and should have been a nice evening out.
