Nestled amidst the breathtaking landscapes of the Scottish Highlands, Inverness offers a truly enchanting getaway for those seeking a blend of history and natural beauty. As the capital of the Highlands, this vibrant city effortlessly combines its rich cultural heritage with modern comforts. It’s also home The Drumossie Hotel, a 4 star charming and luxurious retreat offering guests a perfect blend of comfort, sophistication, and warm Scottish hospitality.Set in nine acres of parkland, the hotel is located around 10-15 minutes from Inverness city centre. They have 44 bedrooms, as well as 6 meeting and conference rooms. The hotel has a sprawling lounge, a restaurant but no bar. Drinks are served in the lounge or restaurant.Afternoon Tea and informal dining are served in the spacious lounge area, whilst the Grill Room is a showcase for seasonal local produce and elevated dining.Nestled within the embrace of a the hotel, the charming rooms exude an unparalleled sense of enchantment. Each room however does embrace modern comforts from wi-fi to smart tv to large comfortable beds where you can sink into the plush layers feeling like you’re being enveloped in a cloud, guaranteeing a restful night's sleep.Large windows allow the soft Autumn daylight to illuminate the elegant dark wood furniture, invoking a sense of regality. The Autumnal colour palette, adorned with understated Scottish patterns, adds a touch of sophistication. These rooms are more than mere spaces; they are havens of tranquillity, providing a serene retreat from the outside world, where guests can immerse themselves in the romance of the Scottish Highlands. When it comes to hotel en-suites, a standout feature that can truly elevate the guest experience is the presence of large modern showers and baths. The Executive Suite that I stayed in provided a generous sized en-suite - my haven of relaxation and indulgence for my overnight stay.I was there for an event the following day. Dinner was a showcase and a celebration of Scottish food from Drumossie’s Executive Chef Euan Walker and Head Chef Stewart MacPherson (plus obviously the whole kitchen brigade!) paired expertly with wines and whisky! The hotel breakfast offers a cold buffet with a selection ham and cheeses, yoghurts, fruit juices and cereals and a small menu from which to order any hot meals. The breakfast menu is limited and there are supplements for the more indulgent breakfast meals like Kiln Smoked Kipper, John Ross Smoked Salmon with scrambled eggs, Smoked Haddock with poached egg and the Eggs Benedict. The Drumossie Hotel's idyllic setting and opulent amenities truly made it a haven of luxury in Inverness, leaving me with cherished memories of a truly magical overnight stay. For more reviews and recommendations, visit www.tartanspoon.co.uk

I recently had the pleasure of enjoying a truly delightful Afternoon Tea experience, with my Sister, at the Drumossie Hotel, and I must say that Zaneta played an integral role in making this experience so memorable.Zaneta's professionalism shone through in every aspect of our visit. Her attention to detail was impeccable; she ensured that every item on our tiered tray, and prior soup and delicacies, was perfectly presented and explained, with each delectable treat with enthusiasm and eloquence. It was clear that Zaneta takes great pride in her work, and her passion for providing an exceptional guest experience was truly evident. What struck me the most was Zaneta's genuine friendliness.Zaneta's politeness and graciousness were truly refreshing. She never once made us feel rushed. Instead, she created a leisurely atmosphere, allowing us to savour each bite and enjoy the lovely surroundings of the Drumossie Hotel. All in all, Zaneta's presence enhanced our Afternoon Tea experience to no end. Her professionalism, politeness, and delightful personality combined to create a truly memorable visit. I cannot thank her enough for making us feel so welcome during our time at the Drumossie. If you're looking for an Afternoon Tea experience that's not only exquisite in taste but also brimming with warmth, ask for Zaneta - she's an absolute delight!Kudos to Zaneta and the Drumossie Hotel for providing such a wonderful and unforgettable experience.

Absolutely avoid this hotel if you want a restful nights sleep. They host events that take precedence over the comfort of guests, there was what sounded like a rave going on until 1 am. When staff was asked I was told there was nothing that could be done about the loud music coming from the event. I literally begged the front desk and they just shrugged me off. I could feel the bass in my bed frame. I was not happy having to wake up at 5:30 after only having 3 hours of sleep. The customer service was absolutely rubbish, the best part of the hotel was the head of the restaurant wait staff, an absolutely lovely Polish woman. Please avoid this hotel at all costs.

Yesterday we stopped at this hotel for afternoon tea.I ordered one scone and was shocked when l paid our bill,to find it cost over £6 !!I know prices are increasing, but the scone was tiny, served with some jam and whipping cream not even clotted .It was by far the most expensive scone l have even had, and l have been in some top hotels. It is a 4 star hotel and you expect to pay for the service etc you receive, and which we have done many times in the past, but not yesterday for one tiny scone !

We really enjoyed staying here for a friend's wedding. The rooms were really comfortable and at the wedding rate we received good value. A beautiful location for such an occasion. We were served in the lounge on Friday evening by Richard who was delighted to tell me all about the various whiskeys I tried.

Stayed at Macdonald Drumossie Hotel in Inverness for one night. The hotel is old but nice and clean.Check in was very smooth and Maria was very polite and professional. Rooms are clean, got a nice character and spacious. I stayed in room 104 and it was lovely. The bathroom was old and had both a shower and bath. Only hair and body wash was provided and even that didn’t work! No conditioner, hand or body lotion. No sockets next to either side of the bed so can’t charge phone on your side table.Had dinner at the hotel. Food was very average and I thought £40 for a 3 course meal was very expensive.Breakfast was a bit of a disappointment also. No butter croissants and when I asked them for some they said they had ran out and that was only 8am!The wifi in the room was terrible! It kept disconnecting and other colleagues had the same problem even in the lobby.Plenty of parking available. Didn’t go into city centre so don’t know how far it is from the hotel but nonetheless a nice option if you are staying in Inverness.

Only booked one night. Wasn’t bad, wasn’t great. The lobby had a funky smell and reminded me of a nursing home. The room was comfortable. Best part of our stay was dessert from room service. Overall, this hotel looked nicer online than it actually was. Value wasn’t there for the cost. Can’t say I’d go back.Staff were all very nice and they did call on the morning of our check in day to ask if we wanted to book a table for dinner. I did really like that they did that.

I would have given five stars for service except for the one server at breakfast. She was overwhelmed on the first day because there was a soccer team so I gave her a pass but the next day she was just not welcoming. The rooms are ok but towel racks didn't heat, and no lotion. Location was ok but it was a bit out of town. Then when we checked out, they charged us for a meal we had 2 nights before and had already paid for and they put the entire bill on one of the three rooms when we had separate bills for each room. It was difficult to figure out who had what because they just listed sides" for the non main courses"

I feel bad ranking this so low. The hotel is beautiful but the entire place has a very Victorian feel to it that made me uncomfortable. If you like that then definitely come here but if not then you may look elsewhere. Elevator is rather slow but the stairs are better than most and also there's only one entrance for the most part that's far from the elevator/ stairs. Other than that great place
