Radford Medical Practice

Probably the nicest receptionist I’ve ever have had answered the phone, can’t remember her name, but she booked in for my daughters vaccines and made the process easy and was understanding. Compared to another practice that I had rang up before, where the lady on the phone told me she couldn’t help at all and ended the phone on me. So thank you to the lady that helped me on the phone book an appointment!!

I’ve been registered at this practice since 1988 and I’ve always had a great experience. The staff are always polite and helpful, the nurses are lovely and very understanding and the doctors are some of the best GPs around especially Dr Kaur. I understand that some of the poor reviews are down to accessing services electronically, but personally I prefer the online system as I don’t have to waste time queuing on the phone. I always get a response the same day and can usually get to see or speak to a doctor or nurse fairly quickly. The Radford practice is much more organised than some other local practices as I have had major problems trying to get help for my mum at her GP in Lenton. It’s been hard for everyone to adjust to new ways of working because of COVID and I think the practice has adapted well. So please give them a break and try and work with them as our NHS staff do an amazing job for incredibly poor pay.

The doctors and nurses are always fantastic and listen to you. They really give you a sense that you are respected and it’s relatively easy to get an appointment same day. Admin requests can take a little time but once pushed they do get sorted and the practice is very polite when it comes to delays.

Only reason I’m giving even one star is because of the lovely women on reception/nurse I spoke to that were helpful and reassuring, I think one of them is called Leslie. However, the two male doctors I spoke to on the phone are some of the rudest people I’ve ever spoken to, abrasive attitude and dismissive when I ask simple questions, don’t communicate issues with medications for weeks so I went without vital prescriptions, don’t contact me back when they say they will (I have to chase them), threatened to refuse me care, and were overall just ridiculously rude. I appreciate it’s a tough job but I was nothing but polite and instead got treated like a massive inconvenience. Do better.

Great online triage (just make sure you're ready to fill the form in at 8am). Dr Gowda was very helpful, efficient and listened to my symptoms, I'm grateful for the care taken.

Just got off the phone with a receptionist who didn’t want to listen to a word I was saying as I tried to get my repeat prescription and she had gone off at me about how I’m in fault for not checking my own prescription had run out? Went in for a blood test and they didn’t have butterfly needles which any organised clinic would know is essential so I was sent away to another clinic, but before sending me away they tried a normal needle and after a day it became infected even though I said I can only use a certain type, I also had to wait 1 hour to be seen even though my appointment time was set. I use antidepressant and they call the first 2 weeks but after that I’m on my own, I also have bad acid reflux and they prescribed me medication for people with gastro issues which my new clinician was puzzled about also. Very neglectful and unorganised gp, can’t believe I suffered here for so long.

I always use the text service and have had a call back later that day with an appointment either that day or very soon after every time.. In comparison to the surgery I used where I used to live I couldn’t be happier. Thanks for all your help.

I was late getting my repeat prescription and needed my medication quickly. All the slots of the day had been taken but the receptionist was so lovely and understanding to me, she got a doctor to send my prescription to the pharmacy and sorted me out.

IF YOU USE GENDERGP DONT GO HEREWhat a waste of two months of my life, refused to work with gendergp as said they were “not qualified” when they are more qualified on trans care then anyone in this surgery and referred me to go through nhs for transgender care which is ridiculously long and after i waited half a year and paid for private care that wasn’t happening. They also completely ignored that I was currently on hormones and that cutting me off suddenly would be detrimental to my health. Not to mention that i asked to for a phone call to talk about health issues before and they refused to even call me for no reason and undermined my issues causing me to have to call back until i talked to a doctor that would treat me how it needed to be. Applied to change surgery’s (which i notified the receptionist when she called asking if i wanted this appointment) was chased up by receptionist to book an appointment and discuss about my treatment only to find out that my appointment no longer stands because I left.
