Buckler's Hard
Great place that you can walk around free. The visitor centre you need to pay to enter, but gift shop free. There is a house and Chapel which are free to enter too. A wood workers workshop has a video running. The open areas have stunning scenery. There is even a restaurant and pub albeit a rather posh one.

This place has a local history of a once thriving shipping village which became famous for building warships. Its also a nice place to have a picnic and if you are more adventurous, there is a boat ride available. Well worth a visit.

Lovely walk back in history. There is a river boat tour. You can also go paddling but understand there is a small fee. Lovely restaurant and cafe on site for food, drinks, and cream tea.

Visited today in the rain. Plenty of parking which we paid for on leaving at the machine. There is a camera that registers your number plate on arrival.I am not really into Naval ships but thoroughly enjoyed the museum. There was so much to see and read. It was fascinating reading about the Persia ship and the artefacts salvaged. We also enjoyed the Chapel, a shipwrights cottage that had a wonderful reconstruction of characters, and there was even an old pub.We shall definitely visit again to walk by the harbour and go on a boat trip.

Easy parking, disabled spaces near the entrance, and a good cafe/restaurant. Great views as you walk down to the river with the old cottages on either side. There is a regular 30 minute boat trip down the Beaulieu river, very scenic and the captain gives a very interesting full history of the river. A trip not to be missed. The walk down to the river is sloped and on shingles but our quingo mobility scooter managed it both ways with no problems. There's also a pub, gift shop & museum but we ran out of time. A very nice place to visit so will come back again

Lovely place to visit. Went on a boat cruise which was lovely. Had a look around a beautiful place. Only paid £7.50 each for 30mins cruise which was good and looked.around.the cottages. Didn't go into museum and paid for parking on the way out as they take a pic of your car reg coming in. Worth a visit

Lovely views by the water and old cottages but only one or two open to the public very expensive, was there just over an hour and parking was £4.80! Didn't bother with boat ride round the harbour but its beautiful place.

We didn't visit the museum, just wanted to walk from Bucklers Hard to Beaulieu and back. This was a lovely walk and we were looking forward to an ice cream in the cafe at Bucklers Hard when we got back but sadly the cafe was closed. There is a new visitors centre and museum so we will have to go back and see this another time. The car park has a good payment system so you don't have to try and guess how long you are going to be and it doesn't require you to use an app.

Coming from the New Forest I knew about this place but had never been. It's free to park for first 15 minutes but then £2.80 upwards after. It's £5.90 to enter Museum but free to walk down pass the houses and see boats and beautiful views. You can walk 2 miles to Beaulieu along the water. There is a cafe there. It's beautiful and the scenery is too. Just love the New forest
