Jax Motorcycles

Booked bike in for tyres, supposed to be fitted while I waited. When I arrive at Jax tyres aren't in stock ( although had been told they were on the phone). Hastily arrange a lift home as they won't be ready until 5pm. I get a call around 4pm saying they don't have a socket to fit my bike, but not too worry it will be there the following day. I wait for a call all day, nothing from them, no call or even a text. Eventually I get a text 3 days after dropping my bike off to say it's ready. I pay and I'm handed a folded over invoice. I get home and find they have fitted different tyres to the ones I'd ordered. I call them up to see what has happened to be told I had made a mistake and that the guy on the counter had 40 years experience and doesn't make mistakes. Nice eh!So in summary:Should have been fitted while I waitThey didn't have a socket to fit a KTM SDIt took 3 days to get tyres fittedTyres fitted were not the ones I orderedGuy behind the counter is a character"No hint of an apologyCan't see me going back."

Bought bike without seeing putting trust in Kevin... It was a good move the staff well Kevin was brilliant the bike as promised immaculate.. Serviced and motd ready for a near on trip home. Great bike amazing service... A go to bike shop if only it was closer.. To all bikers if your looking for a good bike a good deal you won't do better than this place.

Took my bike for an MOT and the bike stopped working. Making a horrible screeching noise and cutting out. Turns out the drive belt wasn't put on correctly. Took it to another mechanic and they fixed it within 30 mins or so. Friendly staff though and a welcoming manner.

Was advised to visit Jax as a possibility for a triumph Sprint GT, which I did. Met with friendly staff who had just taken charge of a GT. they arranged for a test ride and I left a deposit so no one else could buy. Went for the ride and Andy just gave a rough time frame to be back (1 hour later), I return the bike, had a friendly chat and I’m returning in a couple of days to collect the bike. Although they’re busy, they’ll have the bike serviced and MOT’d for collection.I’d take the negative reviews with a very large bucket of salt and visit yourself and make your own judgement. Would definitely recommend

Not bad. I bought a bike a while back and while the bike is fine and everything was OK, the person I got the bike from wasn't very friendly and almost hated the fact I was buying the bike, as if I was putting a lot of work on him. Though we did have a little bit of friendly chat, he didn't offer me any choice on how the bike came out (Number plate, Accessories etc) and I felt as though I had to take that bike, as opposed to having the option to get it. Fair to say, I got the bike serviced elsewhere...

Fantastic service, recently purchased a motorcycle, Kev was brilliant,replying to my messages on a Saturday and a sunday, delivery was arranged motorcycle arrived on time and in first class condition, many thanks to all involved.

I wouldn’t trust these guys with a child’s push scooter. Had my sons moped in for over three weeks with absolutely no communication. I rang several times and was promised a call back.....but nothing! Finally three weeks later got hold of someone who informed me they couldn’t fix the problem..... got it delivered home and writhin five minutes of it being back at my house it was all fixed and back on the road.....no parts required. Not sure where their fitters get their qualifications.....but judging by this performance must be Kellogg’s........won’t be taking any of my bikes/cars or van here!!!

Had my bike there recently for a fault with the engine valves which I believed to have an issue they said there is nothing wrong with the valves? But by judging by there attitude and stubbornness I don’t believe they even tried to find anything. They then apparently carried out an “100 point inspection” and this just wasted more time as I need the bike for commuting! And they don’t even ring to tell you when your bike is ready! They later went on to believe my bike needed a new chain after only 1400 miles!! on a 69 reg Yamaha yzfr-125! Because 3 links had become a little stiff, they where just clogged with dirt! Easy fix but not for jax motorcycles! All the chain needed was a little oil to free it off which was solved as soon as I got home! 2 minute fix! You would of thought they would of tried this before wanting to rip me off £130 for a new chain!? The owner I believe it was? turned very sour when I didn’t want him to carry out the work he thought the bike needed and to be honest with a attitude like his I wouldn’t want him anywhere near my bike! He then point blank refused to do any work after I said I wanted a second opinion and started to raise his voice at me this was the final straw for me! Terrible customer service skills as I was very pleasant with him! All the way through talking! Avoid jax motorcycles there are plenty of better bike shops around.

We have used the car part of the garage on a number of occasions. Normally they are fairly priced and good to use. However, now their customer service is much to be desired. The person who answers the phones is short and unfriendly and the prices aren't as competitive. This has happened twice now. It is a real shame. I have now found somewhere cheaper and more customer friendly within York. **Edited to correct spelling
