Distant Journeys

A really great month in Australia. Excellent organization in terms of coaches & planes & always getting us to where we needed to be on time. Our tour guide Danielle Munro was amazing & kept us all informed & entertained. Lots of fun experiences including swimming in the Great Barrier Reef, a brilliant outback bbq & singalong.

28 days experiencing the best of New Zealand, absolutely fantastic. The hotels were, on the whole, great. Our tour driver/guide, Chris H, was passionate about his country and he passed his knowledge on in an interesting and enjoyable way. I would definitely recommend this tour.

We have done 3 holidays with this lovely company now. We have just come back from a fantastic tour of Kerala. Absolutely first class, a brilliant guide, Arun, and so well organised from start to finish. Before that we did Australia and India’s Golden triangle. All great. The value for money is great, and groups have been good. Highly, highly recommended. Thanks to all there.

Highlights Of Australia and New Zealand Departed UK 14th February.Overall extremely enjoyable. Certainly some issues that require raising with DJ. However, sadly, we have received no promised follow up call as at 11th April.Can recommend DJ and will travel with them again, but their communication after tourists return from holiday is lacking. Whilst we appreciate they are a small team and are working through everyone who has returned" it seems sad that we have been home 3 weeks and heard nothing

I will NOT be booking a holiday with Distant Journey's again. They book too many tours at the same time and it stretches their customer service team as well as the tour companies they use at the destinations. Before we left for our holiday of a lifetime to New Zealand in February 2023, we had trouble speaking to their office and the tickets only arrived a few days before we were due to leave. Whilst there, they were short of tour guides and had a stand-in for the first week (who wasn't a tour guide). More importantly, a cyclone struck the island in the first week and I won't go into detail, but in my opinion the decisions that Distant Journey's made during that time put our safety at great risk.

We have recently returned from the very best of Australia tour with extra nights in Singapore on the outbound journey and 5 nights Bali/2 nights Dubai on the return home. All the add on’s were booked by Distant Journey. This was the the first tour to Australia since the pandemic for Distant Journeys.This trip was cancelled from October 2020, was the first time of doing a guided tour like this, and truly did not disappoint.We received a full refund of deposit within 3 hours when the original trip was cancelled which to me says a lot about a companyFrom the original booking in 2019 until our departure the staff had kept up informed about progress which was extremely helpful. They are very knowledgeable.The trip itself exceeded our expectations, especially the Australia part, and that had a lot to do with our tour guide James. When you are having to meet at silly hours of the morning to catch a flight on a regular basis or sitting on a coach for long stretches you need someone who can “pitch it right” with the humour and chat etc and he certainly did that in abundance.As the tour progressed you also realised what fantastic value for money it was with all the inclusions. The group got on extremely well (36 in total) and very respectful of being punctual which is crucial.Yes it’s a gruelling schedule, but you are aware of that prior to booking plus is necessary in order to make the most of your time in Australia.We had already booked our next trip with the company to Vietnam and Cambodia for next year prior to this trip which I cannot wait to do.I absolutely would have no hesitation in recommending Distant Journeys to anyone and aim to work my way through the other tours.

Just returned from a holiday in India’s Golden Triangle and have to say that this company is amazing. Everything was planned to precision and there was nothing to worry about apart from enjoying the wonderful tours and hotels. The tour guide was well informed and made the tours fun and my 60th birthday holiday memorable. I would definitely recommend this company and will be looking to book again in the near future. Well done Distant Journeys , this is my first review ever as I don’t generally do them m but you really do deserve it.

Fabulous value for money. Did the Very Best of New Zealand and the Very Best of Australia tours. Hotels were of a good quality. Lots of sightseeing tours included.

Recently returned from the Very Best of New Zealand tour and had a fantastic time. Everything was very well organised and the tour pace was just the right mix of free time and organised sightseeing. Hotels were all good, some better than others naturally, but all perfectly acceptable. Robin, our coach captain and guide, was an absolute star and our thanks go out to him. This wasn't a cheap holiday, but considering what was included I have to agree with Distant Journeys that the tour represented very good value. A holiday to remember for all the right reasons. Will certainly book with them again.

Fantastic company. Visiting New Zealand and everything organized . Diligent and helpful. Our tour captain,Adrian, is hard working, knowledgeable and good company.
