Grianaig Guest House is a perfect location as a base to explore the southern part of the Outer Hebrides as it is located just a few minutes from the ferry terminal at Lochboisdale.

My husband and I stayed at Grianaig Guest House for a night in early July 2023. We were greeted by Chris, who is one of the most hospitable humans I’ve ever met.At check in Chris asked if we’d be joining for dinner, showed us the menu and the dining area, and we immediately regretted that we had reservations elsewhere. The food prep was underway and the whole place smelt heavenly. Unfortunately we had an early ferry the next morning and had to leave too early for the breakfast, but he put some to-go food boxes together for us to make sure we had some pastries.The room and bathroom were super clean and comfortable. Everything seemed freshly updated or remodeled. All my husband and I could talk about was how we wish we would have stayed there longer. We had initially booked it as a means to an end (our trip was to golf at Askernish, roughly 4 min drive away), but it ended up being the best lodging decision we made our entire 4 weeks in Scotland.

AMAZING FOOD. BOOK EARLY.We were on our way to the ferry and saw this on Google. We called last minute and got lucky and lucky we were.The food was amazing, fresh, unique and tasty. The service was so personal and friendly, felt like we met with friends. And the atmosphere is extra cool with a living room like lounging area and an open kitchen to see the magic happen.HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Booked dinner for our work Christmas meal - absolutely brilliant. The food was amazing, best meal we've had in a long time! Three course meal plus drinks. Really great service, lovely comfortable dining room. 5* !! Couldn't recommend enough.

The food was phenomenal for both breakfast and dinner (very much recommend booking dinner!) Chilled atmosphere, and great bar selection. We felt right at home for our three days in Uist. Our room was cosy and had all the amenities needed after a day of adventures. The location is perfect for hill walkers/ trail runners as it is 20 mins drive from The Three Peaks of South Uist. Its the perfect place for cyclists to recover from their trip up or down the outer hebrides. Chris and Carla were the perfect hosts We will be coming back again!

A real gem, had a very lovely comfortable stay. Rooms are great with comfortable beds. The communal lounge area is a lovely touch and well appointed with teas/coffees and bar. We booked in for an evening meal the first night. It was so outstanding, we booked again for our second night. The food was delicious and incredibly well executed. Chris and Carla made us feel very welcome. As we had a very early ferry they had kindly made us a tasty pack up to take on our travels as we were missing the lovely cooked breakfast. Thank you for an amazing stay. Look forward to returning again.

Spent two nights at Grianaig Guest House in June 2023 and was absolutely delighted with the rooms, service, and especially the food.- Rooms are very large, comfy, and have very modern facilities.- The Common Room is fantastic to spend some time before and after dinner. Well-stocked honesty bar.- The food (both breakfast and dinner) are out of this world. Portions tend to be on the large side so if you are not exceptionally hungry, I suggest to let the owners know.- The owners are very nice, have great knowledge of the area and were just delightful.We will return (Calmac permitting) and would consider staying three or four nights.

Chris and Carla agreed to seat us at short notice - dinner was so great that we couldn't resist going back again a second time. Absolutely fantastic little place.I had a venison dish that was the best meal I've ever had in Scotland.Thanks for having us guys :)

We stayed at Grianaig Guest House for two nights in May 2023 and we could not recommend it enough.Our room was spacious, modern, stylish and impeccably clean.Chris and Carla were great hosts, very friendly and approachable.The guest house has a very relaxed but premium feel. The furniture, decorations and ambience ooze quality. There is a wood-burner in the lounge area, an honesty bar, and a selection of cakes that are free for guests.On our first night we ate at the B&B. Chris has been a career chef working in many top-class restaurants and it truly showed in his food… by far the best quality meal we had on the Uists, and the set menu was fantastic value. In fact, our only regret we have from our holiday is that we didn’t eat there again!!Honestly, you will love your stay here. We wish the best for Chris and Carla in their business. They have created quite the experience.
