Diabolical house builder. Snags galore with years of delays to get things resolved. Avoid.

Sept 2022, We placed the plot reservation fee of £500 for Cypress-Bovis in Collingtree Park, Northampton.1 Wrong Ground Level-Utility Door omittedEmail on 2/11/2022 from Bovis that the house was built to the wrong levels.5 steps that would be required to the front of the house, the driveway would steeper, the utility door omitted.22/11/2022, we had a conversation with the site team about height differences. We modelled up the design that was agreed and sent to Bovis for confirmation.2 Not Replace the Utilities Door to the Door for GarageWe requested for the utilities door that was to be taken out to be placed in the garage. The house price is actually included the utilities door. The request refused3 Not Provide IncentiveIn early Dec 2022, Bovis launch “save thousands with the big 3” offer to provide incentive of £8,400 but request refused4 Rush To Exchange4/1, we informed by solicitor which Bovis request to exchange before 12/1 or they will cancel the reservation although we keep requesting them to confirm the appearance of the stairs and provide the drawing of the stairs before exchangeFew weeks passed we were told that what was agreed would not allowed as it was not in keeping with the house design and they couldn’t show us what the steps would look like5 Delay but keep asking to pay18/4 Bovis request payment of extra and said the roof will go on the week after. In another routine visit we was told that the roof would be complete in 3 weeks. The portal requested that 50% was to be paid . Bovis demanded the remaining 50% as the roof going to be completed . 2 months later the roof still not completed6 Not provide upgrade Appliances Model NumberWe were intending to upgrade to Bosch appliances however Bovis not able to provide the upgrade model number, it against consumer right ,we do not want purchase we not aware of. We end up not go ahead with the upgrade7 No Instant Building Update24/5 We booked another meeting with Bovis on Sunday 10/6 to view the house. Bovis noticed about the problem in the early week but we only be informed till Sunday8 Director Pull Off the House Swapping Option10/6 We asked if there was any other alternative .One of the sales team took us to see the Birkdale while the other called the directorOn return to office, the sale team confirmed the Director, agreed to reduce the Birkdale to match the price of Cypress and would make sure all the financials match to ensure a swap. Besides, they will refund the extras which we already made as they haven’t make the order. Sales team confirmed the finishes and the spec of Birkdale. Sales team asked us to talk to our IFA to make sure a swap was possible.We explained we’d like to move forward with the Birkdale as it was a less of a financial risk even though it’s not our preferred option. We wrote to Bovis and wanted them to confirm the price and spec moving forward with the Birkdale. We were told that the offer not available as the bank would extend the mortgage. My wife emotion is huge affected and cried badlyFinancial StressWe put our work application in order us physically in Northampton in June and prepare of house completion. I need to spend another £2.7k to fly back to the UK in end of Sept, my wife purposely travel from Sheffield initially and now need to spend another transport fee to travel to Northampton again. I need to continue to bear the current house expense, the monthly expense £1k until we officially moves to the new house. My wife can actually rent out her current room and the potential monthly rent is £530. If the house completion is end of September, the financially loss is about £7.3k. Huge financially loss!Mentally StressThis is our first marital house and we were supposed feel bless but Bovis kept delaying, ruining our dream. The stress serious impact on my wife health,I loss my concentration towards my workConclusionBovis currently offer incentives which up to £20k to the new client but not care existing clients . They still not intend to compensate us although we keep requesting

Destroying natural forests and fields. Natural habitats built over. In the space of 6 months, Bovis homes have destroyed a beautiful landscape, and contributed to deforestation and the loss of animal habitat. People who have lived near the area will now have a housing estate outside their windows instead of a forest and a once great place for walks is gone. The roads and near by village will be overcrowded and strain will be put on the local area. A golf course, fields and woodland area demolished for money. Shame on the whole business.

Awful experience last Thursday morning at the sales office! Sales consultant rude and very dismissive.. despite traveling nearly two hours to view the show homes as I’m looking to invest in the area, she abruptly told me to call the finance people to be checked she refused to give any information out and told me to download it.. she didn’t bat an eyelid to the amount of time I had travelled… I really should of called and checked but seen as I visited two builders on the way and actually brought a home from their competitors down the road on the same day I didn’t feel it was necessary , the sales consultant didn’t even invite me in to call the financial advisor so that I could be qualified..?? Really poor sales skills.The worst part was her demeanour.. she looked at me like I had ruined her day and that I was imposing on her “valuable” time.. despite my car being the only one on the large car park. People buy from people and I certainly would not waste a £ on this site ..

Nice homes, super helpful sales people. Andrea was very helpful throughout our process as well as the site manager Ian. Everyone has been really good to me and my family.

Turned up to have a look at the show home. Challenged at the showroom door by saleswoman asking if she could help us. I said we would like to buy a house. Told basically to go away make an appointment on the website and come another time. And I can’t even find where to do that. Didn’t like her attitude at all.
