Amberley Court Care Home - Bupa

I am an ex employee. I enjoyed my time at Amberley Court. The residents are great and the staff go above and beyond. It has a very friendly homely feel. I would highly recommend this home if you are seeking a placement for adults 65 or under.

Management Sara King at Amberly Court has failed many times to address safeguarding concerns, staff are unprofessional they treat every individual as an ordinary person. Vulnerable adult with brain damage are being neglected. Vulnerable Adults with no voice are walking in and out without staff knowledge, when asked what safeguard is put in place to management you get ignored numerous times, advice to all to check CQC reports when applying for care homes as Amberly Court require many improvements and yet failed to address any matters, poor evidence to support their negligence.

I used the work there (about 13-14 years ago), the management team were horrendous at this particular location! They wanted staff to handle patients (cleaning them & taking the rubbish out) without gloves. They charged everyone who worked there £30 fee for the uniform but promising them the £30 would refunded to them. When I decided to leave & asked when I'd receive the refund? They avoided to see me & told an administrator to inform me that I wouldn't receive anything. The patients weren't treated with respect, nor with empathy (it's was hard to see that side of things). But I would never recommend this place to anyone. As per previous comments avoid.

Amberley Court is a YPD home that houses many residents with particular needs. The home is in good hands with the new management team who work hard. The building is old and needs refurbishing, which is in the plans. The residents have a wide choice of food selections and influence on the menus that suit their needs. Overall, the home could do with improvements in certain areas and more support by getting more staff in due to trying to meet the needs of all the residents. YPD homes need more support in general. Happy with the quality of services.

Amberley Court is a fantastic home provide first class high quality care and service. The manager is brilliant and has made really good improvements and changes to the home to give service users the best possible experience and excellent person centured care. The staff are so friendly and a great caring team who provide quality care and making service users feel that they are at home. The home is so nice and there is always plenty to do for service users with loads of choice. Amberley Court is a fantastic home and service users are so happy here. The team is great and excellent service gets provided.

Food standards have improved greatly with a wider variety of meals more suited to the broad range of residents in the home. The kitchen team are happy to be flexible to ensure residents are eating what they enjoy. Home baked items are also a welcome addition along with much greater range of options for those requiring a puree diet.

AVOID AVOID at all cost happy to take your money residents treated like cardboard boxes rather than human beings staff are lazy and come to socialize and gossip. Whilst management are just payed to make paperwork look good no people skills an is all about saving money Food is absolutely 1star chief seems to cook the same nearly everyday an she lashes out if quizzed what ever is easy for her no options for vegetarians or halal apart from mash an chips an ohh halal frozen sausages. Some staff are very good at their job rolls but never appreciated an either left or been wrongfully sacked because of speaking out management are bullies in 2 yrs I’ve seen so many management come and go.

The home has a friendly warm feel. The staff are very caring and supportive to residents. There is a good activity programme and a great variety of meals. The home is clean and organised.

Amberley court is a great care home, and the management has much improved over time. As a previous worker at this home, the staff I worked with were lovely, I received a lot of support from management and seniors throughout my time there, and the staff worked well together as team making it feel like family. I moved on from Amberley court to take a different path in my career, although I will deeply miss the staff I worked with and the residents. I do see potential for this home.
