Beautiful architectural hotel but the inside wasn’t as nice. We were seated in the lounge area for our afternoon tea. It was fine, just not anything spectacular. I chose English Breakfast tea and it wasn’t hot which is the way I like it. The quality of the tea was mediocre. The sandwiches, cakes and scones were also not the best in taste. This was just an average experience. However the presentation of everything was beautiful. Customer service was above average so thank goodness for that!

What a disappointment. After being assured that the Coronation afternoon tea caters for vegans (2 of my guests), we were then actually told that no vegan tea had been prepared. Terrible service from Olena (?) who basically shrugged her shoulders and didn't know what to do. After a long wait, my guests were given a bowl of fruit and not much else. The manager was not particularly apologetic either. Total waste of money

I was charged for champagne afternoon tea, but served prosecco (it was certainly not black label Lanson as per attached receipt). Also the waitress spilt tea over me.I tried to politely explain but they wouldn't listen. I also nicely asked for a tea refill but was refused. In all honesty I think the quality/service, combined with the dishonesty, was just really bad/poor.I tried calling but they don't pick up the phone nor have an email address. Charged £8.00 for service which was poor, I felt embarassed and intimidated to complain so paid but after the experience feel ripped off and rather scammed to be honest. Would not recommend. If the hotel are able to respond, reach out, provide an email and rectify (provide me with what I paid for) I am happy to revoke this review and improve it - but if this remains, then you can safely assume there's a sheer lack of customer care.Kind regards,G R

We had a beautiful afternoon tea at the Royal Horseguards. We were greeted by a very smiley Olena who explained the choices and took our order for drinks etc. The food was incredible and just enough for two and the pomegranate tea was the best I have ever tasted, I would love to know where they source it.The whole hotel was decorated with Christmas trees and lights with a lovely cinnamon smell everywhere. The fires were burning and it felt really cosy. This is one of our favourite places to have afternoon tea and the festive menu did not disappoint. Thank you to Olena for making it so lovely.

We had expensive but fantastic afternoon champagne tea.We were served by Olena and we found her very pleasant .We ordered English breakfast tea but she recommended strawberry and cream tea which to my surprise was wonderful tea.We have been twice before hereand we shall definitely be back again.

We went there for an afternoon tea. Place is nice, although we ended up in a table in a corner, in a rather anonymous spot.Service was ok, a bit dismissive. Food was good and abundant, although no choice.Tea was ok, but not great either.Overall, it's a nice area and a nice afternoon tea, but I would look for something more special for next time.

Pricey and lovely afternoon tea experience in the lounge marred by occasional strollers and luggage carts rumbling through to use the ramp to the lobby. We had two tables of 3 and 4 across from each other last week. At my table for three, we enjoyed a vegan tea. The scones and biscuits were slightly dry that were fixed by berry jam and plant-based butter. The tea sandwiches were very good. Our server was excellent and did everything to make us comfortable and happy. There was so much food that it actually served as a late lunch. We shared refrigerated leftovers with hot tea in our room there the next afternoon. It was a welcome break from sightseeing, especially during cold, windy weather.I recommend reservations, as they had limited tables for walk ins.

The server herself was good but the tea service was subpar, especially considering the price. The tea was average at best and nibbles nothing spectacular for a fairly high price. Beautiful hotel but cannot recommend afternoon tea. We were much more impressed with tea service at the Royal Lancaster. Great service, tea, and nibbles for less.

Food and experience was extremely disappointing! I was told that the afternoon tea here was award winning and a must try but I was extremely disappointed. I stayed at the hotel for a week and the breakfast buffet takes place at the same room as the afternoon tea. I would say 50% of the items appeared to come from the same ingredients from the free breakfast buffet. Sandwiches, scones, and pastries were all mediocre. I do not recommend getting their recommended tea, it tasted like cough medicine unless that's your flavor of choice.Although they accommodated, they are not very friendly when it comes to dietary restrictions/allergies but maybe this is just from the one wait staff. When I told her I am highly allergic to nuts, she scoffed as she wrote it down on her notepad as if it was such a burden for her. It made me feel bad because it wasn't like I asked to be deathly allergic to nuts. I would love to chow down on some honey roasted cashews like more fortunate people. Funny thing was it was already noted in our reservation but it seemed like neither the staff nor kitchen was prepared for it, so I don't understand what the point was to include it in the reservation notes.Once we were attended to by a staff, we were sat down at a table that was only half set up. I'm not sure why they sat us there because all the other tables were fully set up. I am hoping to god it's not a racism move towards Asians.

I was pleasantly surprised, my explanations were surpassed, the service was 5/5, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was outstanding, again 5/5, I had a really great evening.
