Mercure Thame Lambert Hotel
For an overnight break from M40 while travelling with our Labrador, the location is perfect. Great walks directly from the hotel. The room was very clean and spacious overlooking the courtyard. The staff all very friendly, efficient and professional. Breakfast selection good, and the evening meal was good although being a Sunday night, understandably restricted somewhat. The menu looked to be quite comprehensive for the other six nights and we shall certainly be using this stopover again. Certainly very dog friendly.

Booked a Sparkling Afternoon Tea as a treat for our wedding anniversary. Booked direct with the hotel for 3pm.Arrived and there seemed to be some confusion over our booking. The receptionist approached the restaurant staff who then argued audibly.We were seated and the same waiter arrived at the table and started to clear the away the lunch settings. Not a 'hello' or welcome of any kind just a rather passive aggressive manner as if our presence was inconvenient. He continued and brought a pot of tea to the table. Beyond uttering the word 'Tea' his irritated silence continued. We were not asked which tea we had booked and so I returned to reception and checked that they had our booking - which they confirmed. I explained the waiter seemed to feel we were an inconvenience and, if so, we would go elsewhere.Once again, a member of the reception staff went to speak with the waiter - who, once again, was audibly unhappy.Still without a word, the waiter placed the afternoon tea stand on our table and walked away. Still no accompanying drink. And the actual afternoon tea looked miserly for the cost.At this stage, enough was enough and we gathered our things to leave. I made my feelings politely but firmly known at the reception and explained the disappointment of the whole experience.We will not return.

Lovely location. Enjoyed the Asian food. Rooms comfortable and fantastic shower. Would definitely stay there again on our way down South

Mercure Thame Lambert Hotel
We had a great family Easter Sunday lunch here. We were a large party with 3 small children so had one of the function rooms at the back which lead out onto the outside dining court yard. We all had the 3 course carvery which was excellent and very reasonably priced. Good service and a perfect venue for families to dine in a relaxed environment. We weren't hurried so enjoyed sitting outside in the court yard after lunch. Great for all especially the children. Recommend and would definitely go back.

I booked the hotel quickly, for its location as I had an early meeting. The hotel looks pleasant enough as does the entrance and bar area. The staff were friendly and courteous, the breakfast buffet was good though no staff were around in attendance or clearing plates. The room was the issue, quite tired, bath panel badly damaged and the room had a used towel and an un-emptied bin from the last guest.

I got screwed over hiking in the rain, and when I went in, the staff were super helpful and nice about helping me find a way home. I tried their latte as well and it was good (taste and price!).I didn't realise how fancy the place looked and the staff still treated me well (I was obviously drenched, smell like the woods and covered in dirt). Honestly thank you guys!If I am ever daring enough to try the hike again, I'll definitely stop by.

Made the most of the Groupon cream tea deal, lovely location & premises.Cream tea consisted of lovely fresh scones, lemon & Victoria cakes & a different selection of sandwiches, tea & coffee.All staff I encountered at the hotel were lovely & very accommodating, will come again!

Went for Indian food last night. Food and service were excellent. In fact one of the best curries I've ever eaten. Felt a bit weird being surrounded by Christmassyness on 16 November

The only thing that marred our stay was the 'Sunday' menu. Having looked at the menu on line we booked half board, as we were hoping to try some of the more exotic cuisine on offer. Disappointed to find all that was available was a plated roast, fish and chips or a burger. The food was very good, no complaint there, but think there should be something on the website warning of the restricted menu.
