Hopeless. Sent me a reminder for an overdue bill when they hadn't sent me a first bill. I paid this, then they said I owe them another 300 as the first 'final bill' was a system error. Now they are saying that they have been sending me correspondence that has never arrived, despite the reminder having arrived...Seems they have no clue about the billing process or indeed how their communications 'processes' work.Despair.

Very unhappy, bad customer service. Our bills were always extremely high for a couple of two 20 year old's in full time employment - then we received a £2000 back bill. SSE had apparently been undercharging us for 16 months. After 16 months of living in our flat they then asked to take a reading. I phoned up to query this and was told if I didn't make a down payment of this today on the phone that It would look as though we were not co-operating and the bigger the payment the easier it would be to sort out a payment plan. Even asking to call back later as this was something i'd have to look into was basically threatened that it would just come out by direct debit if I did not agree to something on the phone after I called to enquire. I felt that I had an Ultimatum.It turns out after talking to my landlord the previous tenants had an ongoing complaint with them for over a year trying to resolve a similar issue - they took readings before they moved in then back billed them and were also paying a huge amount anyway. Our meter can't even be found when looking for it by other companies, despite there being no underlying issues that can be seen it is ridiculous that people have no choice but to pay up. Not surprising you can see from previous reviews and the tone from SSE this happens regularly - as first time home owners at least we know now to look out for this.

When you catch this incredulous company out they’ll use every tacticIncluding lies to justify their blatant stealing they’ll refuse to return your callsThey are the worst company ever their customer service is in the dark agesThat’s why they have customers services in other countries because it’s easier to rip you off when their call centres are in countries where English is the third language if I’d of known or read reviews!I’d of run ten miles from this company avoid avoid at all costs! They’ll even invent debts to try and stop you challenging them when you’ve caught them out it’s called intimidation!That doesn’t work on me! Forget ombudsman go straight to civil court!

Incompetent from start to finish. Made a mess of my switch to them. Kept increasing my payments so I was hugely in credit. Moved me to their most expensive tariff. Made a mess when I switched to another supplier. Continued taking money from my account even though I had moved supplier and was due a substantial refund.

Call centre based in Phillipines and I sent an e-mail to customer services about the 100% increase in my direct debit. The answer I got back indicated that the person did not have a good grasp of basic arithmetic as the ANNUAL charge calculated as £639 which was a correct figure as my payments covered this suddenly went up to £100 per month as the person quite simply couldn't divide £639 by 12.3 PHONE CALLS LATER HAVE CANCELLED MY DIRECT DEBIT. UTTER SHAMBLES

SSE contacted me months ago, arranged smart meter to be installed, confirmation letter to follow. 48 hours before meter due to b installed & still no letter/info so I incurred the cost of phoning SSE, after 20 mins struggliing with a gentlemen who couldn't understand me I hung up and phoned in again. Another 15 min call ascertained the installation is scheduled but too late to post me any information......poor customer service SSE.

Disgraceful company, clueless about customer service. They keep cancelling my direct debits and blaming me in their letters. Their “declaration of values” is typical corporate bluff and empty talk, they take your money -a lot of it- and provide the lowest quality service they can get away with. My advice is never to switch to them, they will cause a lot of damage.

3 hours wait time on the phone over the last 5 days and I've still not spoken to a single person. Estimated bills thousands of pounds OVER ESTIMATED. Completely ripped off my grandparents for the last 10 years. Day light robbery (which the have to pay for!!) One very unsatisfied customer. Better sort this soon SSE.

Extremely Disappointing Experience with SSE Energy ServicesI recently had the unfortunate experience of dealing with SSE Energy Services, and I must say that it was a complete letdown. From start to finish, their service was nothing short of a nightmare.First and foremost, their customer service was abysmal. I encountered unhelpful representatives who seemed disinterested in addressing my concerns. Trying to get a simple query resolved turned into a lengthy ordeal, with no clear resolution in sight.Not only did they fail in providing adequate customer support, but their billing system was also a mess. I received inconsistent and confusing bills, which left me questioning the accuracy of their charges. It's frustrating to have to chase after a company just to get a clear picture of my own expenses.To make matters worse, the overall reliability of their energy supply was far from satisfactory. I experienced frequent power outages and disruptions, which inconvenienced my daily life and work routine. It's ironic that an energy provider struggles to consistently deliver the very service they claim to specialize in.Perhaps the most disappointing aspect of my interaction with SSE Energy Services was the complete lack of accountability for their shortcomings. There was no genuine effort to rectify the issues I faced, and it felt like my concerns were falling on deaf ears.All in all, my experience with SSE Energy Services was riddled with frustration, disappointment, and a total lack of professionalism. I would strongly advise anyone considering their services to think twice and explore other options. This company's subpar service and lack of customer care have left a lasting negative impression, and I will certainly be looking elsewhere for my energy needs in the future.
