We particularly like the market cafe. The food and drinks are good quality and tge staff are friendly and helpful. The speciality of this stall is WEM EGGS - a bit like scotch eggs but the egg is first coated in meat and then in a very light pastry. This is tasty and surprisingly filling. We also like tge Cornish Pasties and the cakes.

When lockdown first happened in 2020, we made a conscious decision to shop locally, businesses were having a torid time and you could not get food delivery if you tried. The market in Newport has been round for a long time and I had not really frequented it. Not many things at the time made sense but shopping in the market was the best thing we did. Even since lockdown is long over I still go every week, fresh produce, local traders a selection of specialist traders makes it a lovely visit. A welcome from all and support for hard pressed businesses is what we need!!

Small and friendly indoor market. Contains about twenty different stalls selling a multitude of goods. From fresh local cheese to pet food to fruit and vegetables to a record/music shop. Plenty of room to walk about at your leisure located in the heart of Newport. Access for all including disabled and clean toilets available too. These kinds of places are rapidly disappearing. Try it you will not be disappointed.
