Follifoot is a great place to learn to ride and has a lovely friendly atmosphere. The staff and horses have been amazing and have got me so much further than I ever dreamed I could get when I decided to start riding again as an adult. Now my niece has the riding bug too and goes for weekly lessons there. The yard has great facilities too, lovely hacks in the countryside and friendly competitions (I never thought I would compete as I get so nervous!)

Booked first so called assessment lesson! Only to be told after, their is a few months waiting list you will have to book online their are never no slots available rung up and asked to book over phone sorry can’t take bookings via phone only online, happy to take your money for the first so called assessment lesson don’t waste your time find a riding school that is actually interested in the students instead of just the money

After 35 years of not sitting in a saddle I decided to return to riding. I now goto Follifoot on a Monday morning for an hours lesson. Lisa our instructor is brilliant, keeps us working hard and improving our skills. The other ladies in the class are great, we all support each other. I have ridden a variety of horses which is good for development. Everyone I meet on the yard is very friendly and helpful. I would fully recommend them.

Follifoot is the best riding school ever. My daughter has been riding for 5 months and she could not ride before and now has her rising trot. She is mostly instructed by Olivia or willow and on stable management she is with millie and they are all so kind I would recommend going even just to spent time with the horses. She loves follifoot Park riding center.

I would strongly recommend Follifoot as a place where you can learn how to ride and car for horses. They offer lessons for all ages and levels. When I moved to Follifoot I could hardly ride English due to the fact I had ridden western style for the past 3 years. Now I can walk, trot, canter, and jump in the English saddle I have learnt three times as much in 3 years as I did at my other yard.So I would strongly recommend it as a stables for you to get your confidence up with horses. They are the friendliest most helpful stables in the whole of Yorkshire!

Follifoot has a great range of horses that are very versatile in all areas. We love them dearly and know them very well so whether you are a beginner wanting to learn how to ride confidently or if you want to ride dressage, show jumping, cross country or even would like a hack around the country side most of our horses will do it all. They are very genuine horses that love their job. all of their work load is carefully planned out Everyday, so that the horses are all doing the appropriate hours for the amount of exercise they need. Which is never more than a few hours. They get field turn out every day and days off through the week so we have a big herd of very happy horses for our customers. All of the staff love their job and we make sure everyone has a great experience here ! We are all qualified instructors or our apprentices are in training for their teaching exam. We are a great team as all staff and owners of the yard are all good friends that work closely along side each other and that keeps the yard a fun, happy place that works very well .We like to see our riders progressing and meeting their goals whilst enjoying themselves so we hope everyone loves being at the yard as much as we do :)

My daughter has been learning to ride with Lisa Mitchell at Follifoot for nearly a year now. Lisa's lessons are varied and fun with the education alongside about the horses as individuals, why and how their riding techniques communicate with the horses to become competent riders etc. Lisa packs in loads of activities in a half hour lesson which means children are actively engaged and learning every minute. We look forward to Fridays every week with Lisa, we think she is fabulous. Thank you Lisa

Follifoot is the most friendly riding center I have ever been to they have the most amazing staff and riding school ponies and lots of clubs to help children extend their knowledge with riding and stable management. They will never ever make you do anything out of your comfort zone they will just encourage you to have a go. I would recommend Follifoot to anyone who is looking for a place to ride. I used to hardly know how to ride and now I am doing the advanced camps and showjumping and dressage competitions. They have taught me everything I know about horses and have helped me over a long period of time.

The school is fine but the lessons are slow and a bit lazy. My 11 year old didn’t progress or learn much at all. Simple things like when trotting how to start the trot at the right time so you’re not bouncing up and down on the horses back are missed out. It felt like a lot of £ for a group session where he basically got about 10 minutes of riding if that but no actual learning on how to do things, when to do them and why. There was one horse that was obviously sick of its life (George?) that bit and refused loads and didn’t seem happy but every week he was brought out anyway, so whoever had him barely moved.

Not the worst riding school. The teaching I have experienced is very slow. I started riding at another stables for 1 year before covid and in that time improved massively from complete beginner to attempting small jumps. I was at folifoot for a good few months and learnt very little there though I had hoped to quickly pick up what I had previously learnt. (I do know it takes time and practice to improve but we were not challenged at all in lessons) Every single lesson was the same- some walking, trotting and that was basically it, no variety and we were not pushed to improve. Plus, on more than one occasion my lessons were cut short by 5 minutes or so, or we were taken on a hack when we had paid for a lesson and we weren’t told about it. Or, random people were added to my group that were riding for the 2nd or 3rd time ever and did not match the ability of others in the group meaning we couldn’t learn anything because we all had to go at the same pace. It’s disappointing that I had to leave because it is a local stables I would like to support however it felt like a waste of money.
