I never leave reviews but this is by far the worst restaurant I’ve ever been too!The cleanliness of this restaurant is actually appalling (even might report to EHO). There is litter everywhere, toilets are flooded with toilet tissue and even inside the restaurant is cluttered with litter. Then we come onto the food, it was all burnt and ingredients missing. Drinks: the cokes were just brown water and all the glasses were filthy. I would completely understand if the staff were crazy busy, but they were stood having inappropriate conversations whilst the entire restaurant looked like a bomb had gone off. Do not waste your money on this dump.

Sunday roast is a must! Stumbled across this pub when visiting the Wilen Lake and we were pleasantly surprised. The staff were very friendly and helpful.My friend had a weird request for “apple crumble without the apple” so only crumble and custard, and they actually served her that!!! The waiter went above and beyond to do this for her which we found very sweet.

Called in after a wander round Willen lake. Very dog friendly. Good disabled access. Not enough staff though. They worked incredibly hard but there were not enough for such a big area. Had a yummy brunch of pancakes and latte coffees. My oatcakes with berries and yoghurt (apologies from staff no blueberries)My husband had bacon on his pancakes.My dog stayed under the table ina quiet Booth at the back.

Staff are very friendly and understanding (and deserve to be tipped!) and the food, while quite expensive, comes in big portions and is cooked nicely. It's very noisy, because of the location, so its more for a friend/family outing rather than romantic evening or to concentrate on anything solo but what it does set out to do it does effectively.Easy recommendation.

We pre-booked a table for two families for Sunday lunch. Restaurant was really really busy both inside and out. Both the Beef Sunday lunch and Veggie Wellington Sunday lunch had run out! We waited nearly 2 hours between order and food arriving! The drinks we ordered to have with the food were long gone by the time we got our “it’s going to be another 10 minutes” so a second round of drinks were supplied for free with deserts offered free as well. The fixtures and fittings of the place are tired and broken, the place is a bit grubby with toilets out of order. (So much so we saw ladies sneaking in the gents!) When the food finally turned up the kids pizza meal was a 2 minute microwave Chicago Town type pizza, the mash on the Sunday lunch was clearly smash packet mash and the chicken was dry. The Yorkshire pudding was more like a tepid pancake than a Yorkshire? There is no veggie option gravy! It’s all beef!! So watch what you get on your veggie food, we got Beef gravy on a veggie meal??? The servers and front of house staff were really apologetic and polite and professional but the kitchen left a lot to be desired. The bill was heavily discounted but I just don’t think it’s worth coming back until major changes take place.

We normally love a Green King pub, and this was in a beautiful setting, unfortunately a very bad experience. Tables and seats were left dirty. 3 staff members chatting amongst themselves while I waited to be served. Food was overcooked, dry, and poorly presented. The toilets were horrendous. Dirty, smelly, toilet roll overflowing the bowls and all over the floor. It was actually disgusting. I did report it to staff. Had to be seen to be believed. Really disappointing.

Not a great experience. They brought out the starter within a fairly decent time frame, but then we did not receive our main dishes until about 35 minutes afterward, as we watched people that arrived after us get theirs. My steak sandwich" was absolute trash. There was hardly any meat

Poorly prepared food. The fish came horribly broken and cold after 1 hour of waiting. The solo chicken burger came this way with no salad, just one piece of meat that was horribly overcooked and cold. The fries were scattered on the plate, but they were actually for another person from our company..... It's a pity for the beautiful nature, the restaurant is not good and I don't recommend it.
