Company is known as the worst place to work in Blackpool. People have told me about all the sweat that goes in their food and how they cut corners etc...Stay well away and do not eat the food they produce.

As a pensioner every penny counts nowadays. Ive just had my 1st roast beef dinner and thoroughly enjoyed it. Will definatley recommend to family and friends and be stocking my freezer.

Going to load there in artic quite easy in the early hours IE 2-4 am. No traffic on the roads and the yard is usually empty. Can spin round with 40 ft trailer no problem. Loading bay so manual loading as before. Easy to find

I worked at Lailas for 2 shifts and hated every minute of it!!I got told to work in the packing department which I didn't apply for or want to do and got treated like rubbish by the people in charge. The shifts are longer than you're initially told and breaks are that short they're basically none existent. Please don't work for this company!!

Good eveningI was so looking forward to enjoying the Chicken, King Prawn and Chorizo Paella.Disappointed to see it contained 2 prawns and 4 small chicken pieces and a few pieces of the sausage! It was tasty but the main items were lacking to say the least. Please do find attached cardboard strip.Kind regardsGillian Bottom

I joined Lailas in a professional procurement position - i resigned from post after 1 week. Their operations look impressive but firsthand they are unorganised and do not invest in relationships of any kind (suppliers, staff etc). The Directors are rude and at times embarrassing - i feared that if i stayed with the company i would lose my membership with a professional body as their management of suppliers, and the manner in which they discuss issues is frightening. A few things i noted in my short time:1. On interview i was told by David that they have great CPD opportunities and that my predecessor had been studying for some time which they had supported. I was later told when in post that my predecessor was not supported and had funded the learning herself, and had moved on to better things.2. On interview David made passing comment that my degree in business administration must mean i was very good at filing paperwork... I should have seen the signs but the post was a mid level role. In post it wasn't as advertised and was entry level!!3. I was told that they conduct regular meetings with suppliers and hold events (i.e. meet the buyer). In post i quickly realised the majority of suppliers had never been met (supplier and staff feedback).4. Directors shouting and arguing between offices (at each other, other staff and suppliers)5. Director arguing with supplier over discounting a stationery product less than £1 in value (quantity 1!)6. Director had asked if i had no work to do - after leaving 20 minutes past finishing time. Another employer told me that if i wanted to be successful i had to work at least 1 hour extra a day. This is by far the worst employer i have had and would plead anyone to avoid them! I found them to be demoralising and dis-functional! If you're going to work for them then be prepared! They are very short term focused and reactionary.

Just want to say that I really enjoyed the Spaghetti and meatballs from the chef select brand from Lidl. Far better than any other supermarket version, tastes purely of natural flavours.

Second time I have had chef select roast chicken meal. After first time said I would never buy again and not realising bought from Lidl again mistakingly!Don’t know what they use for the gravy but all you taste is vinegar, awful, both times had to throw away meal. Not sure who tastes food to approve production !!!

I've been eating the curries supplied by Laila's and sold through Lidl's under the Chef Select brand for several years. It amazed me how they can supply such a good tasting curry and rice at such a low price and with no dodgy ingredients. I would have happily paid another 50p for this product however more recently the recipe appears to have changed and it's now quite common to have chicken pieces with unpleasant sinew still attached so I'm sorry to say the standard has dropped and this makes me want to look elsewhere my Curries.
