Excellent service, I dropped my son’s ukulele in for restringing and a bit of bridge maintenance and it was ready the following day. Fascinating shop, it’s like being transported into a Dickens novel.

Worth visiting even if your not a musician! Dickensian little shop. Great workmanship too.

Bit of a miserable old man who works in there but it must be hard working with violins all day not really a proper shop

Took daughters antique violin in for finger board repair. Very knowledgeable man. Amazing job violin sounds 1000 times better and she can now progress with her grades with her beloved instrument.Whilst taking the violin into the shop we also took sons 12 string guitar to be set up. Son is so thrilled he is now planning to take the rest of his collection to Bob for setting up!He may be a man working on his own but wow what a talent he has changed both instruments phenomenally. Didn’t know what to expect price wise as never previously had instruments serviced or repaired but the price was very competitive and well within budget.Finding a luthier who you trust with your instrument is the best thing you can do. We will be trusting him with all our string instruments in the futureThank you

Bob is simply the best. For many years I have taken my violin and viola bows to Bob for re-hairing and my violin and viola for repairs and valuations. Bob has also beautifully restored a number of other violins I have taken to him. I have bought a violin and viola bow from him as well. Highly recommended.

Excellent craftsman and instrument expert. Restored and re-fretted by convert George Love Guitar, which now has it's sound back. Also restored my Howe-Orme guitar- I thought is was a hopeless situation. It now plays beautifully. He sells excellent student model cellos and lovingly restores all types of string instruments.I recommend him for cello students in particular looking for their first upgraded" cello for grade 5+.Guitars need servicing regularly like other strings- yet even concert players rarely have this done. Bob is the answer to giving your concert instruments a new lease of life. He has mine!"

Real excellent quality work, very reasonable rates and nice chap to boot! he is currently restoring my 6th or 7th 60's original guitar, he is that good.

Has no interest in pianos and almost a negative attitude towards them.May be because to be in the piano business you need space and heavy moving equipment.It seems like a small shop and undoubtably has a lot of history behind it,For the smaller musical instruments it is probably idealRoy
