Specsavers Opticians and Audiologists - Huddersfield

Great experience at my recent test. Optician was happy to give advice to the affect that my sight has changed from short sight to long sight. I was advised to just use glasses for reading as distance has improved.

Came in, picking out glasses to a lovely gentleman, when going to get my glasses measured i had this extremely rude, impatient and frankly difficult lady. she shouted at me and tutted when walking saying she told me to follow although i’m hard of hearing. When sitting down she scanned the glasses, slamming them down and said the price and i explained before coming in i spoke to one of her colleagues i have a hc2 form and she rolled her eyes, no she really did roll her eyes. she said well you will get one pair free and another you have to pay for i said that’s fine. She sighed saying “this will take me ages” She left me for abit, then asked for my hc2 and walked away for a further ten mins. She came back sighing obnoxiously, I really couldn’t believe it to be fair everyone here is lovely, I don’t know if it was a bad day for her but just thought people should know to stay clear of her when they come in. She is Annie Harris Dispensing manager.

Applied for OTK scan, vision test. Picked up glasses. Everything was explained in detail. Went in for a hearing test. Excellent service and attitude of doctors to visitors.09,12,23 My eye became inflamed and I asked for help. I was examined and made an appointment for an emergency appointment at the hospital. An hour later I was invited to see a doctor for a more in-depth examination. Thank you for the excellent work.

Went for an eye test recently, booked ahead online and only had to wait a minute or 2 when I arrived before I was seen. The guy who did my eye test was good and the lady who helped me look for new frames was also very nice.

I’ve been a few times and had great experiences with lovely members of staff. However, today I had a member of staff who made me feel really upset and uncomfortable. She was rude and made me feel awful, the appointment made through the phone and a member of staff must have booked the wrong thing so I was told ‘well I can’t do the appointment then’ like it was my fault. I had an issue with my lenses where they were painful and I could not put them in again as the lens wasn’t right and was told to book a health check online, she told me to put them in and when I explained I can’t because of the pain I was laughed at and spoken to rudely. Very disappointed as everyone else was lovely.

I have recently attended my overdue appointment at Specsavers in Huddersfield (nothing saver to me about this place has the prices are eye watering expensive) for my regular, yearly eye test.(Ear tests/examinations are also done here).The young man, the optician who attended to me, explained absolutely everything from the beginning to the end of my appointment. He was super knowledgeable and polite. At the end of my examination, he told me I needed a new prescription, I was told I did not require to attend a new eye test every year, but once every two years. That put a smile on my face right up and till another member of staff led me to the small but varied display of glasses at the front of the store. One look at some of the price tags made me hastily head to the exit. I then remembered I wanted to find out what the price would be for a couple of pairs of varifocals, lenses only.I did add a few extras, and the price was much better. I proceeded with this option, paid in full and left.Two weeks later, I went back to Specsavers to pick up my new glasses on the exact date I was told they would be ready, but no glasses. To be fair, they did have a power cut on this particular day. Back home, I went in the waiting taxi.About 30 minutes later, I got a call telling me my glasses had just arrived (yer right) so back I went to collect them. This time, they were there, all was good.So don't expect fantastic service but good service is more appropriate.

I didn’t like the new frames I tried to put up with them as they were different to what I normally have I chose some different frames and I’m looking forward to getting them next week the person who helped me was very helpful service outstanding very happy

The examination seemed thorough. What was too fast was how I was told that varifocals were the ideal for me. I hadn't mentioned them at all. Furthermore, I was not told of the very great difference in pricing. In fact, I didn't become aware of this until the payment moment. So how are the glasses? Here, I must praise the assistant, Jon Sparks, who was excellent in checking and adjusting their fit, and explaining how the lenses worked. Lovely frames. But I'll be taking them back as varifocals are.most definitely not ideal for me. It's a nuisance, having to adjust the angle of one's gaze; and after 6 weeks, long enough as a trial, i still feel unsteady when wearing them.

From my arrival to when I finished, everything went smoothly. My time was not wasted and the team appeared organized
