Chatwins - Sandymoor

The vegetable pasty and cakes are delicious, served by good, friendly staff!All the produce looked fresh and tasty!I will definitely return !

Great sausage rolls and lovely staff! Sandymoor needs more shops and businesses like this but a bit more expensive than other bakeries and could do with more vegetarian options.

Great lunch treat with donut

Badly designed driving approach to the shops in general outside with a cluttered, poorly signposted junction and a busy (unmarked?) pedestrian crossing outside a school and clearly hazardous. Very limited menu, expensive prices and lack of vegetarian options. The one time I've been in I queued for a while to buy an overpriced cheese toastie only to be told they couldn't do one, I think the reason was they'd run out of cheese but can't remember for sure. Couldn't wait to get out and away from there and won't be heading back in a hurry if ever.

Shame about the customer service!Did not get served standing at the carvery counter. 4 people came in after me buying cakes and bread etc and all got served before me. Ended up walking out.

It’s ok , nothing to shout about , expensive to £8 for sausage bacon egg on a bun and a veg pastie( not as tasty as greggs by the way ) . Shame really as it’s on my doorstep

well originally from south of uk ( bedford/london ) now living in runcorn its a wow to be able to visit a bakery that has all i need tocontain my hunger & the wow factor is the staff team gt customer service & real friendley well doneyes this thank you to them is from me steve aka the joker manwell done chatwins at sandymoor

The sausage rolls, steak slice and pork and apple roll were so fresh and tasty. The cream cakes were very light and delicious, will definitely be back!

The best steak pies you can buy, but extremely slow service (waited half an hour to be served, with thirteen customers ahead of me in the queue and three staff serving behind the counter). One assistant was working flat out serving, another younger assistant was working at a snail's pace and the third was preparing more pies and pasties for the oven though there was plenty of savouries waiting to be sold. The queue were getting impatient and a couple walked out. Chatwins is reknowned for quality baking, but I was very disappointed by their pork and apple slices a couple of weeks ago - there was no apple inside and the pork was a thin strip of sausage meat which failed to reflect the higher price. I also bought a box of six mince pies. The pastry (if you can call it that) was white, barely cooked through and was soft/fatty when bitten. The Christmas cake I also bought lacked flavour and was disappointing.I would like to say though, first rate steak pies as always and delicious cream cakes! I've been a customer of Chatwins for 34 years, in Alsager and Chester, so hope to see an improvement from the new Sandymoor branch soon! Runcorn is extremely lucky to have a Chatwins at last, but they must still equal the quality produce and service found in their other stores to keep their good name in Runcorn.
