We popped in for a quick bite to eat and delighted we did. The food was gorgeous hot and tasty with loads of great choices on the menu. We had hot stack chicken burger and sirloin both we delicious and the service was brilliant. The waitress and lad behind the bar were both very friendly and attentive explaining the options for food and drinks to us and chatting about what had brought us in. Overall we were made to feel welcome and left stuffed and very happy. Will definitely be back again soon. If your in Larbert try it out you won't be disappointed.

4 adults and 3 children visited for my daughter in laws 32nd birthday dinner. We were refused service for 2 alcoholic drinks as the 32 year old didn't have ID. Then I was told I ( 68 ) year old Icouldn't buy a drink because I might give it to ( her)!!!Although a young looking 32 year old she definitely doesn't look 24!!!! Our whole evening was spoilt. Her children were upset and we all had to go back out in the rain and find somewhere else to eat.The staff were quite rude and obviously couldn't use their initiative. There was no duty manager on duty and the bar staff went to ask the chef!!!!You lost £160 that evening.I appreciate the time of year but this was appalling and humiliating!!!

I went to The Bruce for a meal with family last night. Table booked for 6.30 I had a sirloin steak with peppercorn sauce. I could not fault the steak that was edible / however I would say that about a third of it was grizzle( see photo) The onion rings were not crispy but soft and a bit soggy. When the young waiter came to clear the table and asked if everything was ok I told him about the steak/ he then asked if we were having a sweet which we weren’t. No apology / he just walked away

Came here with my daughter and one of her rescue dogs who can be a bit nervous...staff gave us a quiet table away from the others. They were very friendly and great with all the dogs there, giving them treats. The dogs can also pick something from their own special menu....Food was lovely...will defo be back.

Went here for a quick lunch and left feeling awfully ill wishing we had just nipped to McDonald's instead...everything's seemed like reheated processed food from a store...I wasn't expecting the ritz, i was expecting maybe Bruce fayre or something similar for the standard but I was actually pretty dissapointed...there must have been about 4 tables occupied and one male server seemed in a very stressed state he barely said a word to us...the lady behind the bar was much more welcoming but the rest really let it down soggy watery burger dripping all over the place and burnt tasting mac'n'cheese on a hot plate with a fat steak with barely any steak....I've never been back and it took a few days for my gut to recover from what I did manage to eat, my man had the same issue our date was cut short and he had to go home and lay down as did I....wish it would have been different...my man left a little piece of art for the male server in hopes it would cheer him up...shame really as it looked far better than it tasted

We actually went twice in one day - lunch and dinner! Lunch was good as not many customers and service was quick. Good value for money food. I had chicken breast with sizzling vegetables - portions nicely filling.Went back in the evening and it was very busy. We waited a very long time, but to be fair, they had a notice saying they were short staffed and please to bear with them!. I had the salad plate and added the chicken and bacon bits to it - it was so yummy! My lunch was roughly £9, as was my dinner. They have a good sized bar, to the left as you walk in, pool table, sports TV, darts corner, then to the right the main dining area, kids corner top right. Very nice - great value but hope they get more waiters as service was very slow in the evening.

First night, arrived at 7.40pm to be told the kitchen had closed. When pressed the waitress said last orders for food was 7.45pm. When we pointed out that we still had five minutes she reluctantly took our order.Food was OK. Then at 9.20pm the staff called last orders for drinks informing us the pub closed at 10.00pm.Tonight we ate at a Chinese restaurant (very nice) and popped back to the pub for a drink. Arrived at 9.30pm to be told the pub closed at 10.30pm and last orders had been called early because there were only two people in the bar. There were four in our party. The bar maid relented and said she would serve us a single round after which we would have to leave. We didn't bother. Not sure if the management of The Bruce are aware of this early closing. The next time we visit the area we will find somewhere more hospitable to eat and drink.
