Offers good honest but basic food, well presented and pipping hot. Service was quite slow with only us in the restaurant, what it would be like if it was full would be anyone's guess. I must also say, they served a good pint!

A lovely, homely pub, with restaurant for a home cooked sunday roast, boasting outstanding service, very reasonable prices, good selection of beers, but most importantly good food. I very much enjoyed my visit, the food I had, and the service I recieved.And i very much look forward to my return visit.A great example of how a local pub should be

For many, many years my wife and I have regularly had our Sunday lunch at the S and C. and we are in agreement that the meal provided is the tastiest in the district. Would have given 5 stars if the pub had been maintained with a little more L & C.; however the meal is served in a clean manner and the staff is very friendly.

Popped in for lunch on a sunny Saturday afternoon at the start of summer only to find out they don't serve food until 6pm.Beer selection was extremely limited and we weren't made to feel welcome.Won't bother going back.

We never has food, but the welcome from the locals was wonderful.A real pub and beer at a good price. This is not a rip off joint, its a proper local.
