Recently purchased a Klipsch Bar 40 TV sound bar and subwoofer from Phonostage Records. I highly recommend using Phonostage rather than the high street chains. I received excellent advice and support from Tony and the new speakers have completely enhanced our TV viewing and added a new dimension to home entertainment.

Found Phonostage Audio by Googling HiFi in Lancashire. Refreshing to see a HiFi retailer that's family owned.The owner, Tony, was very patient and very knowledgeable and spent 2 hours with us helping to choose the right speakers.He suggested bringing our current speakers along so that we could easily compare them against the speakers on audition.Auditions are by appointment only which adds to the private audio session.If you live in Lancashire, or indeed in the North West, a visit to Phonostage Audio will be well worth your time.

I’ve bought from Phonostage twice now and both times but really happy with service and advice.I’d been threatening to upgrade my almost 20 year old Kef bookshelf speakers to a pair of Dali Oberon 3. While passing the boredom of lockdown in March I spotted Phonostage we’re my new local Dali dealer. After chatting to Tony over the phone it turned out he had them in stock in the walnut I was after so I decide it was time to treat myself, let’s face this is the time to make the most of em!A couple of days later Tony hand delivered them to me and these things are fantastic! Powerful yet precise bass, best I’ve heard from a bookshelf speaker and beautifully clear natural sounding top end. I have them connected to a Yamaha surround amp and these have also really brought movie soundtracks to life, really sounds like a proper home cinema now.The quality of the speakers and Phonostage’s classic vinyl offering have caused me to talk myself into another lockdown treat for myself, dust of the vinyl and get a turntable. Given the great service Tony provided with the speakers he was obviously my first port of call. After chatting to Tony about my setup, wanting something decent but not silly money he recommended the Rega Planar 1. I went with his recommendations and I’ve had it for just over week now. Another great investment. It sounds great, way better than the turntable I had years back and was super easy to setup which is just what I was looking for. I wouldn’t consider myself an audio anorak so wasn’t looking for loads of complicated adjustments and settings, more a plug and play job but something with quality about it, the RP1 fits the bill perfectly. I’m even more impressed with the Dali’s now I’ve got a decent source connected to them.I think the next purchase is likely to be a DAC and without a doubt Phonostage Records is where I’ll be looking before anywhere else. Tony’s honest advice has been first class I’m completely confident he’ll point me in the right direction Might be a while off yet though, I’ve already spend £60 on new vinyl in just a week and I’ve got me eye on a couple of classic goodies on the Phonostage eBay store so he might see me again for them first!

My cartridge was due for a change, and I contacted Tony at Phonostage Audio about my options. He quickly provided me with a number of potential options from a straight replacement to an upgrade. The information provided allowed me to make an informed decision. The service was both quick and friendly and Tony fitted the new cartridge within a couple of days as well as providing me with valuable tips on how to get the best out of my new cartridge. I recently purchased the Klipsch Theatre Pack R-8SW and subwoofer for a milestone birthday present for my husband. This is the first time I have used Phonostage Records but would certainly use them again in future. Tony could not have been more helpful, he took the time to answer all my questions, kept me updated throughout and I received the order exactly as promised. Spent the previous month cleaning numerous vinyl albums without much joy. Found Phonostage via a Google search and contacted them directly. Tony (who I'm presuming is the owner) is a legend! As a millennial who's used to emails and chatbots rather than actual human interaction, it was a pleasant surprise to have multiple phone calls with someone who was a) really friendly and b) did his best to help a clueless noob like me find the perfect Christmas present. Delivery was quick and the product is perfect (much better than if I'd chosen without Tony's help). Loyal customer for life right here!
