Lovely quite and friendly. If you want a warm and quite hotel this is the one for you. Classical music always playing, the food is exceptional and priced to suit. The view over Looe bay from the garden terrace is breath taking. The outdoor pool is delight on a hot.Just stunning.

Family of 4, children aged 15 and 12, loved the breakfast and location went because Mum stayed as a child, still has the country hotel feel yet not far out of town. Feel very fit after all the walking, Looe is quite steep with lots of steps. The heated outdoor swimming pool was good to come home to after all the days sightseeing. Good to have parking on site, as parking is an issue in the area. Very friendly staff - room very clean with tremendous views over the bay

I don’t normally leave feedback like this but unfortunately I feel I have to on this occasion. My husband booked this family room a couple of months ago a family room for me my husband our 2 teenage children and 2 pets .As you can imagine we were all so excited we had travelled 6 hours just to be in Cornwall in this hotel. As we arrived at the reception, we were told by the manager that he had put us in a smaller room because the room that we had booked the shower was not working! We accepted the smaller room because we were tired and just wanted to relax but we felt cramped in we didn’t want to cause an issue so we made the most of it .Then we were told that the hotel was not pet friendly but pet tolerant making us feel not welcome with our pets .What does that mean anyway ? we were charged £80 extra for 2 small dogs which were not allowed to go into the hall way or public areas , but fair enough we kept the dogs from the public areas. Breakfast was fine but the hotel manager seemed hard of hearing so we kept having to repeat ourself when ordering .But the main reason for leaving this feedback came when I asked the manager if I could borrow 4 forks and 2 plates. He went into the kitchen, I waited at the reception for 5 minutes and all I could hear was the cook in the kitchen making an major issue of me borrowing forks and plates that I needed to use in our room, the woman in the kitchen was saying “say no! She can’t! Borrow them “Tell her no!!and it went on and on!!I felt humiliated and very uncomfortable standing there and it totally ruined the evening , we then felt really uncomfortable with the rest of our stay. When I returned the forks and plates I explained to the manager how uncomfortable his discussion in the kitchen made me feel .He’s attitude and reaction shocked me , instead of saying sorry he replied with why are you borrowing forks and plates anyway when you could be eating in our restaurant. The 4 night stay was not cheap and paying extra £80 for our 2 small dogs who were not allowed in public areas in a small room where the hot water took 10 minutes to warm up and then the attitude of the staff made our stay uneasy .We definitely wouldn’t go back and felt obliged to leave this feedback .

Very pleasant surroundings with polite and cheerful staff, eager to assist with anything. The hotel in general was exceptionally clean and our bedroom was lovely with a huge balcony and some stunning views. We will definitely be visiting again.

The worst hotel experience I or my partner have had. Back in late September last year. The man at the reception was unforgivably rude to me and my partner quite literally like Basil Fawlty except not funny. the place is very dated and much of the furniture is damaged - something I would have overlooked had we not been treated so rudely. We arrived relatively late in the evening but didn't think this would be a problem as when booking they stated the kitchen would be open at our time of arrival. It wasn't and the man behind the desk told us he'd closed it as they weren't busy and anyway why did we want food as we'd 'only come from Fowey' in fact we'd come from the ferry via France, just because our booking address was registered in Fowey doesn't mean that's literally where we came from, but apparently Mr Fawlty wasn't to know that and it was our fault that we hadn't eaten yet. He started saying things to my partner and winding her up to the point where she ended up crying. At breakfast when we ordered he kept saying the oposite of what we ordered like when I asked for kippers he was like 'haddock it is then'. The toast was also stone cold.I hope they sacked this guy, or if he is the owner I hope he goes out of business.

Lovely place to stay. Fantastic swimming pool and views. The rooms are a good size and the staff are all so friendly. The food at breakfast and evening meals are delicious and the bar had all the normal popular drinks. They even have a DVD library if the weather is a bit wet or you want a quiet night in your room. We found it easier to drive down to the town as the road to get there has no pavement.

Very impressive hotel with absolutely stunning views, particularly from the comfortable and relaxing lounge, outdoor garden, and swimming pool. I had the single room which was compact but nice and cool even during a very hot period. Breakfast was delicious. Service is friendly, proprietor clearly enjoys running the business. Would stay again.
