Make sure you agree a price and have it in writing prior to allowing the job to proceed - we agreed the price over the phone and were invoiced a higher figure which has hit our community funds. It was a shame Barlow's did not appreciate the fact we had a budget as we are not a Commerical organisation but a community that wanted a Christmas Tree.

Gareth has been helping us with a site install as a contractor and has been amazing, he has helped with anything asked and explained everything he has done to me so I understand. He is a credit to the company and I’d use Gareth for any works on site now!

Absolutely shocking. After I paid 100£ through Nest website to have my Nest Hello fitted, they asked me an extra 15£ for a transformer that was actually included in the installation. I had to contact Nest and they sorted this for me. Following this, I waited 16 days to have my product installed and I booked a day off work to be there but, few hours before the installation, they rang me to cancel it. I am complaining with Nest now as this is not acceptable.

Horrible Trade Counter Experience From The Branch Manager:Wanted to know some prices for LED flood lights as I am in the installation trade.At the trade counter:I asked what brands they sell. The person at the counter told me and I choose one of the brand and gave him the spec. He went to a nearby office where he asked his colleague for the price.He came back and gave me a price. I got my phone out and saved the price on my phones's notes section. I did mention its a bit expensive compared to another local electrical wholesaler.At the same time the member of staff who was in the office came out and started to moan at me saying that I am on my phone comparing prices/goggling and not to waste their time.I could not believe what he just said and I then showed my screen to the member of staff on the trade counter. He saw what I was doing on my phone and told his colleague that i am only typing on my notes section and not comparing online prices.The staff who was moaning at me released he dropped a bollock and said oh".I wasn't pleased with the member of staff's attitude and asked him this is my first time here and that is how you talk to your customers?What is your name and I want to talk to the manager.He replied "I am the manager".I never encountered such disgusting attitude. I have logged a complaint to the head office where a senior member staff did apologized on the behalf of the company/the Oldham branch.This is my first and last visit."

At approx 1530 on Friday 13th January 2023 an individual driving a Barlows van with the registration number DK15ZPP was so busy on his mobile phone that he failed to give way when he was supposed to, pulling out on me with my young son in the car on the school run. He then proceeded to drive in an unsafe manner while surrounded by school kids. Disgusting behaviour.

STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! It is a fraudulent con company. They take money before hand and will not refund your money if you dont pay them 5 times the original quote. They quoted me £175 for 3 kitchen sockets to be moved out of a rang cookers hot zone. Engineer came out and did no work, instead stated their customer service quoted me wrong and a new quote will be sent and I will be refunded my money. I was requoted £980! There is a world of difference between £175 and £980! Thats 5 times the original quote! 5 times! I told them I cant afford this and had I known this was their quote for the job in hand I would not have taken on their service. I was promised my full refund as their customer sevice quoted me wrong however after weeks of waiting they now tell me they will not be giving me full refund but will be keeping £96 for engineers time- a call out charge. What call out charge?! I was never told about any call out charge! I would never have taken on their service if they had quoted me the correct money or anywhere near even £600 forget £980! They quoted me £175 and I agreeded to pay for work to be done for £175. If they price went up another £100 or even £150 I would still have got the work done but £980! I cant afford that and would not have booked any thing with them at all. Absolute CON this company. Be aware they ask for money in advance. Be aware that if they quote you a reasonable price, they could change their minds when they come out and requote you 5 TIMES and if you dont go with them they will make excuses and keep over 50% of your original money for no service or work! infact they have yet to give me back any of my money! I will be taking this further as this is absolutely wrong! I have waited weeks now for refund, so I can find someone else but its now 3rd wk and not a penny back. To quote someone one price come out and state their own customer service agent didnt gauge the job right and I will get my money back only to requote me 5 times the orginal then when i cant not afford to take on their service, they refuse to give my money back. Absolutely stay away from this CON COMPANY!

I rented a trailer from Barlow world, when i tried to load my horse he would not go in the trailer. I rang Barlows he told me to bring it back and he loaned me a wagon at no extra cost. Amazing customer service to get us to the show with a 1st place the day turned out great.

We have worked with Barlows over the last 4 years on a variety of Projects completed Nationwide. We have always found the company and staff to be very helpful, friendly and provide value for money. We have never been let down on any sites we have had them attend, a very professional company that I am happy to endorse.

Absolutely brilliant service. I have been messed about by my 'home emergency insurance for over a week. No hot watee, no heating.Spoke to Barlows at 3pm yesterday, someone was on my door step by 6pm same day, and he stayed well past 8pm to sort the issue. Cannot fault him at all. Thank you Barlows. Top class service
