National Tyres and Autocare - a Halfords company

Purchased 4 new tyres, fitted and balanced etc.Left the shop on Milngavie Road, Bearsden to find it a bit spongy. Stopped and my right front tyre was half deflated (photos taken)Taken straight back to the shop, wait 15 or so mins for them to sort it comes out and admitted the valve wasn't clear so it was letting our air. It was half flat and being an off roader I get, very well, how tyre pressures will affect safety.The boss was also happy to say I don't care" when I said this was putting me and my child at risk and I'll take this further.Ps they also don't answer their phones and don't call you when car is done. Also didn't bother to wipe the tyre grease of my wheels.Lazy

Great service from the team had my car in for a service and was done pretty quick I saw my car getting worked on so I know it was getting done apart from that staff are very friendly and helpful and I’m glad National Tyres dose the payment assist due to be short of money and manage to still get my car serviced by paying it up each month works out a treat such a good service from National Tyres ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Online prices are good, and when they get it right, they are great. However, when anything goes wrong, and it does quite often, they're reluctant to make things right.I'm now on my 4th complaint in 3 years. Usually it's been an honest mistake on their part, but they just seem to panic and dig themselves into a deeper hole, rather than admit their mistakes and sort them.To be fair, the online booking system over populates their ability to manage day-to-day tyre fitting for a small staff compliment. It's not always the fault of the garage, but at the same time the garage staff don't seem to want to help either.Sometimes you get your slot as booked, while other times you'll be asked to come back. Defeats the purpose of a booking system, especially after waiting a week for an appointment.Post Halfords buyout, things don't seem to have improved. It's still a lottery on the day. And if anything goes wrong, you need to go to a full formal complaint to put it right.The so-called vehicle health report isn't worth a button either. e.g. lights, battery, wipers all got a green tick, but I know each category had issues with my most recent visit (which I later fixed myself). The reported tyre tread measurements are falsified too. If they're not going to actually check these, why not just put N/A"

Went into reception yesterday morning to enquire about a replacement tyre.Two guys behind counter , on their mobile phones with absolutely no interest whatsoever.Couldn’t care less & gave me little info etc - so I just went somewhere else.

Car failed MOT and National were unable/unwilling to investigate the issue that same day, leading to me having to take the car away. Communication was poor. A week later, and with no further work, the car passed its MOT at a respected national company with no issues. This was despite them paying close attention to the supposed issue as I had flagged it up to them.Very very unimpressed with the quality of service, and the subsequent waste of my money and time. I would not recommend you take your car here, and I feel foolish for having done so.

Near to my home and on a very short notice given me date and time for MOT. The guy at the reception was very welcoming and accommodating in a short span of time for MOT according to my availability. Didn't charge me for unnecessary or fabricated defects in my car and MOT went smoothly.Had to come back for engine oil refilling as it was at the lower third mark. That shouldn't happen in the first place. But many thanks for saving my time.

The garage is good, but it is virtually impossible to reach a specific garage by phone, as it seems to be behind the Hallford phone defense shield. I will need to get down to my garage personally to ask something as I cannot get hold of them through the phone.

The lads were top class. In for a wheel balance and they had me sorted in no time. I didn't realise the extent of the imbalance, I had just bought the car second hand, and the car feels brand new. Even though there were teething issues with the wheels as the previous owners had tightened them too much the boys got it sorted.Thanks again guys

I would avoid. Very mixed in terms of customer service and overpriced. I spoke to two employees, neither of whom gave me their name. One was professional and friendly, the other was uncommunicative and unhelpful. I was quoted a price for a new tyre that was 50% more expensive than my local garage for the exact same product. When I chased up the order, I was told that he'd 'missed the deadline' for ordering from the supplier and I'd have to wait a day longer. I also spent a long time on hold trying to get through to the branch on several occasions. I ended up ordering the tyre from my local garage who could get it for me in 2.5 hours instead of National's 2 days.

Last month I went in and booked my car for a service and MOT for today .Was very pleased that I did it in advance. Arrived early this morning 8.30am to be told it wasn't booked in because the manager didn't put it in the system.I am looking after a member of my family who is seriously ill.Yesterday I cleared out my car for its Mot ,I got up at 5.30 this morning to do the things I needed my car for ie shopping and delivering things to family to find that because it wasn't put in the system I have to makes new arrangements with people for today and reschedule and cancel plans for Wednesday. Do the people who fail to put things in the system think about that .
