Really very good, a great addition to your Edinburgh Castle ticket. It contains a large collection of War Time artifacts over the centuries, with a wide range of stories to accompany them. The level of personal detail on some items is impressive.Note there are other smaller museums / exhibitions inside Edinburgh Castle, also included in your Castle ticket.Thought I would be at the Castle for just 2-3 hrs, but was there 4+, being at this museum about 1 hr.

If your are an history enthusiast you must visit this museum. It shows many dresses used that time the weapons used by the soldiers at that time the utensils used. They also showcase how soldiers used to decorate their uniforms by animal's faces and bird's feathers. Museum also shows how the prisoners used to sleep eat entertain themselves at that time. Museum seem also has showcased latrine used by the prisoners at that time.

Scotland's military past is available for all to see in a free museum that packs in quite an impressive array of detail about said past. If the castle itself doesn't take your fancy then this will certainly keep you occupied as there's so much to take in when it comes to key events, figures and facts about Scotland's role in wars from the past right up to the most recent decades. What's even more impressive is it's located within the castle walls and as mentioned before, it's all free so do give it a whirl if you plan on stopping by Edinburgh.

It's much larger than it looks! There are so many displays inside and just fascinating stories and displays. Everyone should go here at least once. It's perfectly accessible for wheelchair users too.
