Lovely couple of nights at the hotel. Staff friendly, room was clean and had everything you need not to mention the comfortable bed. Very handy for everything in the city, would definitely stay again

Firstly thanks to the housekeeping team on Sunday 19/11Hotel entrance is modern and very clean. Bedrooms are usual premier bedrooms. However our room (519) was spotless.Monday went to the grill next door for a breakfast..big shout out to the girl who bent over backwards to help me take a breakfast back to my room.Overall a very pleasant trip.

Located on the main street that connects several tourist attractions, the hotel offers a wonderful view of Princes Street Gardens and Edinburgh Castle (it just depends on the room).5 minutes from the train station and easy to reach any part of the city either by public transport or even on foot admiring the architectural and historical beauty of the city.Well cared for, clean and nicely decorated. The room has everything you need, including a hairdryer, iron and ironing board, coffee machine with capsules (a few capsules and something sweet) and a mini fridge. The staff is nice and friendly.

Very approachable reception staff both on the phone beforehand and afterwards whilst staying. I have not stayed since the refurbishment..which has made a vast improvement to the entrance into the facility. My previous visit in 2016 I feel the bed was more comfortable, this visit in 2023 it was overly firm. The excellent pillows helped with this. Cleanliness everywhere on entry to the room was excellent. For the much higher cost per night I really to feel the tea/ coffee area needs an upgrade.Thank you to the staff who were so helpful. Sadly the WiFi although free is basic.

My room was supposed to have been cleaned, but I was utterly dismayed to find nasty stains on the bed, rubbish under it, and the smell of dust. Just awful.

I can not fault the location of this hotel! Walking along the street to get to it the views are amazing & we wondered if we’d get a room that overlooked the castle but assumed most rooms would have a view of the back, but how wrong we were! We had a front & centre direct view of the castle which was quite honestly stunning, possibly even better than the views you’d find from rooms in The Balmoral. We stayed in a premier + room so has the added extras of a nicer bathroom + a mini fridge & whilst we really liked the layout of the room the mini fridge didn’t work properly & was far too warm meaning the stuff we put inside went off. The TV also wouldn’t turn on at all & we did ask at reception if this could be looked at, but didn’t hear anything back. Luckily we’d brought our laptops so were able to use the wifi to watch something, but otherwise the tv situation would’ve been more frustrating. The rooms have air con but it only goes as low as 19c which is too hot (we stayed during the heatwave) & needed to be coolerBut we were very gratefulFor the fan that was already in the room. The bed was comfortable enough & if you like a soft mattress would probably be perfect. There a choice of pillows which was great as I’m someone who doesn’t like a thick pillow. The duvet was far too heavy for this time of year so maybe it’s something for premier inn to think about changing. The room was clean but could do with having a bigger bin, especially if you’re not getting it cleaned every day. I can’t comment on the breakfast as we didn’t have it but there’s a Tesco close by if you want to pick something up quicklyOr lots of cafes within walking distance. This hotel is located quite far down princes street as is a longish walk from the station or car parks in St James quarter, if you walking then I’d suggest walking through the park over the road or on the street behind & then dropping down as it's a lot quieter, especially during the day. We didn’t eat in the restaurant next door, but you’ll find loads to eat along the street that’s no more than 5 mins away. Ask & Wagamamas are close by & both were good. The staff were lovely, all really chatty, helpful & friendly . I can’t fault a single one of them & even the staff on the desk at 3.30am when we left were lovely despite the early hour:Overall a really convenient place to stay, a few minor niggles but nothing that would put me off staying again.

We stayed four nights, in Premier room, with a meal deal.....Room clean and comfortable, although the windows could do with a clean....However.... Top tip.... Eat early in the restaurant..... As service can be slow after seven!.......... Also we found the menu more than limited............ The staff were pleasant & helpful & worked hard.

Lovely staff and friendly service. Location is also excellent. However there is no noise isolation between rooms or from the street. Very loud and did not get a good night sleep on any of the nights. Also quite expensive for what it was.
