The Fishponds Family Practice

People on the phones are thick. Told her I was abroad on Saturday and needed an appointment for medication before this.. to be told.. 3 times.. we have an appointment on Saturday. Didn’t seem to grasp the concept of this, rang back and spoke to someone else and she sounded as thick as two short planks.

Spoke to Aron today, she dealt with my query professional and promptly, was friendly and polite over the phone. Many thanks

Doctors are generally really nice and staff are friendly but there is something really wrong with the admin at this surgery. Prescriptions are often delayed, paperwork is missing and/or delayed

Absolutely fantastic surgery. Care coordinators on telephone and reception do a fantastic job. I was seen very quickly this morning and Dr was very thorough. I can’t fault them. Thank you to all staff, you have a difficult job and your care is very much appreciated.

New appointment system is useless and dum.If you don’t have email address and internet you are as useless as their appointment system. They wanna upgrade their system BUT they don’t wanna upgrade their services.Maybe we’re NOT ready for AI yet.Please make upgrades. To make life easier, better, helpful and save time. Unsympathetic and uninterested care co-ordinator who may as well have been a robot repeating the rehearsed we have a procedure to follow.Completely ignoring your real concerns.You can no longer book an appointment over the phone to see a doctor you are told you must use the electronic system patch’s for this there is no other option.This is meant to be better than the previous phone system which I personally never had a problem with.

Tried to book an urgent blood test recommended by 111 after I was very ill over the bank holiday weekend.Having moved recently (only 1km away) I was told since I’m now outside the catchment area I could no longer book any appointments or even a blood test, even though I was sent a text saying I had a 28 day grace period to find a new surgery.Now have to wait upwards of a week to be registered with my new surgery before I can even book this test.In my opinion this is ridiculous, and a breach of duty of care. Avoid this surgery….

I was sad to leave this practice due to moving away. I’ve had a complex health issue and everyone I’ve encountered at the surgery gave me exemplary care.Dr. Sean Atkins, in particular, advocated for me, and went above and beyond his role helping me navigate a difficult medical journey and I was very sad to conclude this relationship.In contrast to the other reviews, which I do not diminish in any way, I received a phone call on any day I needed it, never waited more than a day for a face-to-face appointment. Reception staff also acknowledged my situation and remembered me.

I have felt compelled to write to praise the service I have consistently received from Fishponds Family Practise.I have found Doctors and Nurses that I have had appointments with empathic, supportive, knowledgeable and effective.My last visit in particular I was very distressed and felt very grateful to have been met with such compassion when I felt very vulnerable.I an era where people regularly berate our NHS services and professionals are under such pressure. I wanted to share this compliment with you. I never have any difficulty getting an appointment and think the new patches system is very good.Thank You Fishponds Family Practise.
