The Fox & Goose Hotel Bar and Restaurant

Stayed for a couple of nights -Rooms - Had a double on the ground floor it was a little tired but it was spacious, comfortable & cleaned to a very good standard. Good size wardrobe & even room for a small table & two chairs. The bathroom was of a good size but could also do with a refresh as again a little tired. Provided tea/coffee & the all important biscuits!Service - All staff were friendly & welcoming from our arrival to our departure. The kind lady who cleaned our room was full of knowledge about the area which was very useful to us. I can say that she cleaned our to a very good standard despite being short staff on the days we were staying.The evening meals were both enjoyable & good value. I preferred eating in the bar area as it had more warmth & character something they could improve in restaurant.Breakfast was a little disappointing as on the website it showed breakfast menu which was comprehensive. Unfortunately on arrival we were told it would be a buffet breakfast but was told they had vegetarian options. On our first morning we arrived for breakfast- hot buffet bacon, sausages, tomatoes & mushrooms. The scrambled eggs were not a good experience. No Danish pastries or boiled were left which was a disappointing. You can make yourself toast & drinks. They provided plenty of cearal, fruit & yoghurts. As we were leaving on the second day we thought we would try the breakfast again. It was better standard than the previous morning we had baked beans, mushrooms & fried egg and they appear to have the rest of the breakfast supplies which was missing the previous day. The lady who cooked our eggs was very warm friendly. The cost of breakfast is a additional cost so I do feel they do need to update the website as it wasn't value for money & very restricted. As a vegetarian very limited & disappointing.Location- it was a great location and easy drive from the M5 with a free large car park.

We popped in for lunch on the way home from Weston Super Mare, so can't comment on the rooms, but the food was terrific and the service immaculate. So, if you're going that way and feel peckish, give it a go.

Ordered the lasagne. Was fine on the outside, but after a couple of mouthfuls, it quickly became apparent the meal was frozen in the middle, not just cold.... frozen solid! They apologised and said the chef would do another. By the time it came out, the rest of our party had finished. The properly cooked second lasagna was pretty good, hence the 2 stars instead of 1

Lovely plated roast dinner, 100% satisfaction from myself, hubby, and daughter. Only £60 for all 3 including non alcoholic drinks and a generous tip

First time here for sunday lunch with family. Very happy with the service and the food. Trio of meats for lunch were fab !!

Can’t rate the rooms as we didn’t stay in the hotel.We came for a Sunday roast whilst in the area as we are staying at the Haven nearby. The service was quick and friendly, the only thing I’d say is that the waitresses need to have abit more confidence as they are good at what they do but seem like they overthink things.The roast dinner was lovely, the beef was soft and had a rich flavour, the Yorkshire puddings were light and went well with the rest of the dinner. The veg was perfectly cooked with a little bit of a crunch still and we were delighted to have pigs in blankets with the roast too!! We shared a cauliflower cheese and it was cooked well, the cauliflower was soft and it wasn’t to cheesy which can sometimes ruin it.The gravy was lovely and had a lovely rich flavour.Will definitely return in October when we are back in the area. Thank you! Compliments to the chef!

great for a one night stopover to collect my new motorhome from the dealer next door, Sarah was so helpful and welcoming, definitely recommended!

Once we had booked in we wentvto our room, my husband who is 80 went to collect the overnight case from the car, had a fall on the speed bump in the car park, he fell hard and cut his hand, nose and mouth. I panicked and went to the reception asking for help. They were great and a young man called Tom was amazing and cleaned up my husband and contacted 999. He was so attentive and calm. Thank you Tom xx

Lovely hotel, staff very friendly.The only thing what in my opinion let the hotel down was the breakfast.£13.50 for a very basic breakfast (wasn't that hot after being served to me & egg yoke hard) & a cup of tea, I had to ask for another T- bag because one T-bag proved very weak even after a hard stir (£2,50)
