The Pear Tree Inn & Country Hotel

Easy to find and very quiet. It is a budget hotel and one of the nicer ones I have stayed in. A good firm bed, good shower, handy magnifying mirror in the bathroom, free bottle of water, very large fluffy white towels, extra pillows in wardrobe, check-in and out was very easy. USB plugs in a few places. I would stay again. All staff very friendly. Sunset right outside my window.Air-con doesn't really work and they don't supply fans. (I brought my own). The bathroom was very clean with the exception of behind the door and it could do with a good bleach around the tub and showerhead.

We had our wedding reception at the Pear Tree in March and it was brilliant and the perfect venue for us. Donna was so helpful through the whole process - so easy going and keen to make it the perfect day for us. We chose an Indian cuisine which was completely exceptional - People are still talking about it! Thank you so much to Donna and the team for helping to make our day so special.

Not my first time at The Pear Tree, and certainly not my last.The new refurb is looking absolutely fantastic. So modern and fresh throughout.The food (I had the Carvery) was amazing and really could not be beaten on quality, quantity and cost.I'll be back!!

Very nice people and a lovely quiet spot with great potential. The main building and extended accommodation look great externally but are a mixed finish inside. Like so many other hospitality venues they appear to be short of staff. There are some what appear to be stalled renovations going on that don't impinge on day to day but lessen the impact of the gardens and outdoor areas. The bedrooms are reasonable with comfortable bed, good smart TVs but showers that dribble rather than shower. Wi-Fi throughout can be a challenge. Good food but a limited menu.

We attended my sisters wedding. They executed the whole thing very professionally. Fab staff nothing too much trouble. Especially Debs the hotel manager who was very calm and attentive .Her smile never faltered

Had our wedding at the Pear Tree yesterday, and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day. Donna was so lovely and helpful when it came to organising the day, taking so much of the stress and hassle away from us. The day itself flowed brilliantly, the food was absolutely exquisite, the Bartlett Suite was beautifully laid out and decorated and the hotel rooms were very nice. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Every single one of our guests have told us how much of a fantastic and fun day it was, and that the venue has played a huge part in that. We would definitely recommend the Pear Tree to anyone who is thinking of holding a wedding or other event there.

Having stayed here several times in July for work i have to say that the rooms are extremely tired and attention to detail is lacking ( biscuits and water missing on visits) Evening meal ok, same items vary in quality / presentation and menu doesn't change. You get what you pay for. Won't be stopping again after the last experience waiting too long to order breakfast due to not having any dedicated restaurant staff. Pity could be a nice place.

Very dingy inside, not sure whether it's really open! Staff mostly pleasant, we were upgraded to a suite as we said we were leaving! TV didn't work in lounge, ok in bedroom but an hour out of time! TV antenna inside!!! Dinner was good, breakfast not so, will not recommend, looks great from the outside. Would suit a care home!
