Fishermans Return
Have visited this pub many times and always found the service and the food excellent. Today however the fish pie was miserable, no flavour unless you like cabbage. The topping was billed as bubbles and squeak, it wasn't very nice. A reasonable amount of fish in the pie but not much potato and served with no vegetables at all, just a few bits of dry lettuce and a tiny cherry tomato . Very disappointing

Full of locals and dogs blocking the bar and access to the toilets. No effort made to move, far from welcoming.Large dining area but can’t comment on the quality of the food as we didn’t have any

Didn't stay there, but have stopped for lunch both times stayed in Norfolk for a holiday. Dog friendly despite some locals and councillors trying to tell dog walkers to stay away.So please clean up after your dog and respect others if your dog is a bit excitable.I love Norfolk for the reason it is dog friendly I find dogs are more behaved than children and some families I have been on a beach after families and mess they leave behind.Councillors and some locals if we did not come you would loose the income of these business and your lovely village will be a ghost town..Please not all dog owners are irresponsible.I wish more bins were on the nature reserve.

Tried this pub during our stay in winter on sea. Food and service was excellent. Very dog friendly. During height of season especially I would say book a table in advance as was very busy the night we were there. That said they have a large amount of tables and can cater for large groups. A definite recommendation for somewhere to eat or even just a drink as lots of tables outside for the sunny afternoons

Absolutely brilliant. Very interestingly decorated place. Old and new combined harmonically. Pictures, sculptures, funny texts, history of the place. The furniture gives a warm homely feeling. Delicious meal, served with gusto.

Nice local pub with parking, plenty of seats and tables inside, can only book a table for 10 people or more . Food is good large portions but on the expensive side. Nice atmosphere and they except well behaved dogs. They do have rooms available in the pub and two small apartments outside.

This has always been my go to when I have visitors but not any more . I had the burger and paid extra for blue cheese the burger and bun was cheap rubbish and the only trace of blue cheese was a small dash of blue on the bun but no taste of it anywhere . 2 others had the beef pie , this used to be fantastic served in a tin cup with a lovely crust on the top, it’s now a precooked bought in one and full of gristle they left it , the veg had been sat in water all day and was tasteless , it’s bad when the only good thing about the meals were the chips . Bar staff very blunt , lager shandy was certainly not 50/50 as full of lemonade and she even messed up the orange and lemonade , wish I would have taken pictures of it all but didn’t want to make a fuss in front of my visitors . Not for me anymore , plenty of much better options locally and better value for your money

Great pub in the heart of Winterton. We sat outside as it was a beautiful, sunny day and we had the dogs. There were bowls of fresh water for the dogs and a shady area to keep out of direct sun. Prices were reasonable too

Only went for a few pints when on holiday. Staff were pleasant, and tĥe place was clean. The food looked good and looked good portions. I had planned to go for a meal, but there was a change of circumstances.
