We booked this for a night in town and the room was lovely but a bit tired and in need of some TLC. Reception staff were attentive when we arrived and offered a prosecco which was a nice touch which probably made me expect it was going to be a great experience, on leaving staff never even asked how our stay was? That tells me so much. My Breakfast was terrible, eggs benedict, eggs overcooked muffin like a rock and hollandaise a hard blob, my husband enjoyed some of his full breakfast apart from the eggs, perhaps the breakfast chef needs to look at this. Sadly felt really let down and staff do not even ask when you have not even eaten?

The location of the hotel is very convenient especially coming from the airport - the tram is directly across the hotel a 2 min walk. Also easy access to the old town and a lot of restaurants. The rooms were very spacious and nice. We were on the first floor so it was a little loud due to there being an eatery downstairs but I imagine the higher floors would be fine.The layout of the hotel is very complicated, it took us about 7 minutes and two flights of stairs just to exit the hotel. This probably is just because its a historical building and that’s what they are working with but it wasn’t very ideal. I would not recommend the breakfast. There are a lot of cute cafe/bakeries nearby with better quality/value for breakfast.The service was great, the staff were so friendly. If you’re okay with walking a bit to get in and out then this is a great option.

Great location with friendly staff and service. Hotel layout is very complicated and it was an absolute maze to find our room. I would not considered this a five-star hotel as it says. Our heating system in our room was broken and the room was blazing hot. We called and asked this to be resolved while we went to dinner and nothing was done. Ultimately we slept very unwell in the hot room. Staff were apologetic about it, and comped a couple drinks / bites we ordered, but could not offer a refund which was warranted.

After many years of not seeing my good friend I booked The Glass House, one, as it was a Marriott and we are gold members, two, we were only a few steps away in the Marriott Courtyard and three, I trusted the standard of the company, especially as it was a Signature Collection property.However, apart from the lovely company of our friends, the experience left a lot to be desired.The person who served us was polite but mainly absent. Getting a drink became tiresome, the food was mediocre, although one in the party was GF and he was most impressed with the selection for his dietary requirements.I felt very let down as I had booked there for a very special reunion and was left feeling we were forgotten about. Not to the standards I was expecting to be fair.

We stayed for three nights at the The Glasshouse and it was quiet wonderful. The entire staff were friendly and helpful, whether it be additional requests for the rooms or general questions. Monday and Jonathan in concierge were especially helpful with our luggage as well as always greeting us with a smile and friendly demeanor. Would highly recommend staying here!

Great place to stay in Edinburgh! Close/walking distance to most tourist destinations. What makes this place stand out is the staff! Everyone was very friendly and hospitable, especially Harry and Haig! They gave us many good recommendations of places to visit and eat that were incredible. Definitely consider staying here!

The Glasshouse has a certain amount of style, and the roof garden is a nice touch. The bed was very comfortable, and the reception staff were pleasant and helpful. However, our stay had some serious negative aspects. First, we were checked in by mistake to a room that was still being prepared and were met by a hostile cleaning lady on entry. Second, when we went to The Snug for dinner, we were completely ignored by the two girls behind the bar. After 10 minutes of this, we asked if we sat down in the bar, would they come to us, to which they replied yes. After another 10 minutes of being ignored, we gave up in disgust and left. During all this time, the girls were busy with other customers, but it's unforgiveable that they did not engage with us in any way, by looking us in the eye and saying Be with you in a minute" or "Sorry about the delay" or "Bear with me" etc etc. We were the only people waiting for attention and engaging with us on arrival should be a given

Some of the most hospitable and thoughtful staff I’ve ever experienced on my travels. The location is incredible. The rooms are very comfortable. The views are gorgeous. And the bar at the hotel has an incredibly thoughtful and well-curated whisky list. Truly an amazing experience. If you’re not sure where to stay in Edinburgh, stay here.

It has taken me a few weeks to decide whether or not to write this review.The hotel was a beautiful venue for our wedding on the roof top. Megan the wedding planner was so helpful.The hotel room was amazing, the rose petals on the bed looked amazing.The hotel did let us down with the wedding food. To be told as they were just about to serve it there supplier had let them down with the food we ordered for our guests. Have to say it spoiled my wedding day. Your wedding day is supposed to go smoothly and no stresses.

I had a hard time deciding how to review The Glasshouse. There were tons of pluses - the staff was all very nice, breakfast was great, the rooftop lawn was unique with beautiful views, and it was so convenient to be right at a new light rail station that takes you right to the airport and many other places. Overall, though, it was not what I expected from an Autograph Collection property. Our room, while it had a nice balcony with city view, was tired looking. The furniture had so many dings, the bedskirt looked ratty, things like that. The layout was awkward, which you could tell from photos, but it was kind of hard to move around in. The hotel's overall layout was very complicated, which is why we were shown to our room when we arrived - never would have found it otherwise! The bar area and The Snug, while nicely done, were just in the middle of what would be a convergence of a few halls. They worked with the space they had, it was just ... odd. Nothing wrong with The Glasshouse, it just didn't have the luxurious feel I was expecting so I was a little bit disappointed. I wouldn't say I would definitely not stay again, but I would shop around for other options too.
