Overall a good experience. Our cat was looked after and treated well following what we assume was an injury by another cat. I do have reservations regarding the cost of taking a pet to the vets (not just Oathall). Some elements of treatment are extremely expensive and in my humble opinion hard to justify.

Been with this vet for a few years and usually pretty good. My dog had been scratching for around 10-12 days. I was unsure if it was because of the very hot weather we had been having, a skin allergy or fleas. So I rang and got an appointment. Saw Andrew. Explained all of the above to him. He looked him over and then went and got a flea comb. Brushed it through his fur on his back 3 times and assured me categorically that he didn’t have fleas or eggs. To be honest the vet wasn’t really sure what the issue was but said he would prescribe tablets. I told him my dog hates tablets so Andrew gave him an injection instead and said if it didn’t work there would be a prescription on file for tablets. They charged me £74.95. The injection didn’t work. He was still scratching badly. 3 days later i found 2 large fleas on him. Now he has stopped scratching! I went in today and had the misfortune to speak to the Practice Manager who tried to tell me that my dog got the fleas between the vet visit and me finding them. I didn’t want a full refund. I explained that. I was happy to pay for the injection and £22.50 of the consultation fee. I was asking for £30 refund as I felt that was fair. Really disappointed with the Practice Manager attitude.

Had to put my cat down due to his quality of life. The vet that put him down was extremely caring and kind and did this with the utmost dignity for my cat and I really appreciated this. HOWEVER, when I returned a few days later to collect my cat's body he was handed to me without any sort of box or carrier despite a box being promised. They claimed he didn't fit in the box. Luckily I bought a blanket with me otherwise I would have had to carry my dead cat home with me, his body on show to everyone in the waiting room and car park. This made an already deeply upsetting time much worse.

My lovely dog, Nana, recently had an operation performed by Mr Simon Barrington for cruciate ligament damage. This is the second time she has needed this as her first leg was done at North Downs.I can’t praise highly enough the wonderful care she received at Oathall. Every body we saw was kind and caring from the vets, the fantastic aftercare from the nurses and the friendly receptionists. My dog has now been discharged after only 6 weeks because she is walking well and in no pain but of course we can go back if we need to. I have been coming to Oathall for more than 30 years and I think now it is the best it’s ever been. Incidentally, we are not insured but the cost was very reasonable and fair, less than half the price of North Downs and I highly recommend Simon.

I cannot recommend highly enough! My experience on losing my beloved family dog was made so special, thanks to the thoughtfulness and sensitivity of the wonderful vets. I have a sense of pride that I was able to say goodbye in the most caring & compassionate setting. Something I cannot thank them enough for! 5* all the way. Thank you Oathall Vets.

Friendly, helpful and proffesional staff who go out of their way to do their best for your pet. Our dog, who had been a patient for many years passed away yesterday and the staff could not have been kinder to a 66 year old bloke bawling his eyes out (me) Thank you from both of us for looking after Pippa these past few years

I wasn't registered with them but after finding a lump on my cat and freaking out they managed to get me an appointment the very next morning (I'd called at 5:30pm) and they were amazing! So polite, explaining everything to me, got my cat vaccinated, checked up and got my other cat booked in for his vaccine, just called up to ask if I can move the appt to the next day and they've done it with no problem at all! Absolutely amazing vets in my opinion, definitely won't be going anywhere else!

If you want to spend a weeks wages just so the vet can stroke your cat for 30 seconds by all means go. The receptionist there is an absolute troglodyte with zero manners and a fake compassionate attitude towards people who fear for their pets wellbeing. The vet also forgotten to weigh my cat and had to come back into the waiting room to collect and weigh him. The audacity to charge 55 pounds for 2 mins of her time what an joke of a vets this is. Rude place go elsewhere is my advice

Very good vets. The best I've been too. They show that they really care for your pet and offer a lot of advice that other vets I've been to in the past never did. They were great during lockdown, I felt I could really trust them to take my cat and examine him without me being in the room. Highly recommend this place to look after your animals. Thank you.
