About the Business
Home | olf at Royston has been dated back as far as 1624; local historians have claimed that the first English golfer, the 1st Earl of Buckingham played at that time. The origins of the 18 hole golf course at Royston date to when two Cambridge University Students laid out the first course in 1869

It's quite a walk to the 1st tee from the clubhouse. Our group drove to a nearby car park and unloaded our trolleys and clubs from there. There's hills, did I mention there's hills. A good test on your fitness and stamina. Course was in excellent condition, tees very good and greens very fast. Wind was only light on our visit, but as it is very exposed, I would expect it would be very tough on a windy day. Club house provided a good meal afterwards, sausages mash and peas with a very tasty gravy. Bar staff friendly and attentive. I would like to return and play again.

Always an adventure to play here. Played their Senior Team Open for 7th time. Natural, Hilly course with great views. Lots of investing holes with smallish testing greens. Always good welcome in clubhouse. Challenging but great fun

Very friendly clubhouse with reasonable priced food and drinks, the course was in good condition for November large open fairways with firm fast greens. Be aware this is a very hilly course but great fun, a couple of the Tees were quite close to the greens and some were quite a walk, 3 off us managed to get round in 4hrs 5mins. Great experience well worth a look.

Probably one of the toughest challenges of golf in the area. The weather dictates how well you play. Not for the faint hearted and it helps if your fit as the hills are steep and the greens are windswept and fast. Go back to the club house for a bite to eat and drink as the staff are welcoming and the view across Therfield Heath is to die for from the terrace.

A fantastic, challenging and well maintained course. Full of natural features and wild flowers allowed to establish throughout. The clubhouse was very welcoming too. Well done all.

A great course. My husband found it a little challenging on his first round today but reckons Very hilly and flipping windy!!!! Some very quirky holes. On the last hole my son and I felt like we could get blown down to the green!!!
