The Woolhound

Lovely and much needed shop for the city centre. The woolhound has a variety of yarns across different price points to suit a variety of projects, love the massive range of stylecraft yarns and the sirdar happy cottons for amigurumi. The staff are really friendly and helpful no matter what your knowledge level.

Really lovely shop, great selection of yarns, needles and accessories for both knitting and crochet. A good place to get a knitter a gift!Despite the small size there is a broad selection of yarn - a wide colour selection of super soft acrylic DK, which was very cheap (£2.45/100g), some British 100% wool from Bluefaced Leicester sheep, known for its softness (and a very good price here, and a good colour selection).Lots of interesting yarns in self-striping and variegated colourways which would be great for hats and scarves. A variety of sock yarns as well, from hand dyed to commercial yarns. I was impressed they had the KnitPro dpns I needed - they seemed to have a good collection of needles too. Knowledgeable and helpful staff.A much needed shop for central Oxford!

Great little shop containing just about everything you need for a project. I particularly appreciate their decision to have a varied price range in the yarn they offer. They are really affordable.
