The food was fine. We had the roast. The setting was very uninspiring so we will not go back as there are far nicer places to eat in the area.

Avoid. Appallingly slow service, took an age for the food to arrive. And when it finally did, it was all tepid. Some of it tasted ok (nothing special), but the steak was awful – we asked for “medium-rare” but what we got wasn’t just “well-done”, it was one of the most overcooked steaks I’ve ever tasted.

Dropped by after completing a walk last Sunday or a pint. Visually stunning establishment with ample seating outside. Found out that they offer a carvery on Sundays, unfortunately had already eaten so just stopped for a pint of coke.Pagoda is a smart place to visit and lovely to sit outside and watch the world go by. What I did not like is there is only one alcohol beverage that is on tap, everything else is bottles and cans.In summary, I will definitely go back for a carvery when next passing the area.

Was in town for 4 days last week and ate here two evenings. Jon and his staff are welcoming and very friendly. The food is good and there’s a good variety to choose from. I’d have given 5 stars but the dining area was cold on my first night, the second night was marginally better. Still, with friendly staff and good food it’ll not stop from me returning when I’m in town again. Thanks Jon.

The food was very good. Beautiful beef and vegetables. The Chef very attentive and polite. Friendly and polite welcome. Table service a tad wanting. Nevertheless, an excellent place to breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Went here for lunch with my partner and 2 dogs and was honestly blown away.I got the Pagoda Club and my partner got the Meze and haggis bon bons. Everything tasted so fresh and looked like it was all homemade, even down to the coleslaw. I even ate the little side salad that usually just gets put on a plate for a bit of green because it was so nice.We then finished off with a cheesecake. We were already full off the food but just had to get it because everything was so nice. The server was lovely and took care of us. She was also so friendly to our dogs and so was the chef when he came out. Will definitely be going back when we are in the area next spring/summer.

Dropped in here with some friends making a table of nine. The food is fab - a good selection of 'pub classics' with some more unusual and delicious choices too. What makes it stand out is that your meals are properly cooked to order which at this price point is excellent. There's a small choice of desserts, with generous portions and also delicious. Service was attentive but not intrusive. The venue is a bit hard to find, up a minor road and behind some trees but worth it. Two large courses and a couple of beers came to about £35 (July 2023) which was good value imo. Recommended!

Thought I'd treat myself in September to a nice lunch. The menu was nothing new but very expensive. I went for a toasty. They didn't have regular coke, only zero sugar coke so I opted for j20. The toasty took a while to come, amazing as the place was near empty. The restaurant was cold, myself and another table kept their coats on. The toasty came and I was so stunned and hungry for anything I just stared at the two of the cheapest plapiest bits of loaf used to make one toasty. Lots of root vege in salad cream with a big wedge of iceberg lettuce quickly sliced and not even spread was inspired further to a disgrace by including a few soft crisps. I paid and left for Macleans to warm up and have a coffee and a piece which I would have had at the Pagoda. This is the worst lunch experience I have ever had. And, also was the worst toasty I have ever had while being the most expensive toasty I have ever had. For the price I was expecting at least a panini and not value bread.
