We had a lunch meal on Saturday. The service and food was excellent. The cost was very reasonable for the quality. Well positioned just off the main bypass

Unfortunately we found one lady behind the bar quite rude. It was a shame becuase the pub is lovely but not welcoming at all only if you book ahead do seem to get good service. We left and went down the road to the Countryman Oub which couldn't be more welcoming!

Quietly nestled just off the A24 in sleepy village of telephony repute. Nicely improved from village pub days with a range of seating options inside, conservatory and outside. Lovely attentive happy staff provide table service for a well priced all day menu. Particularly novel is the assiette of sweets to share. Great way try things you might normally avoid just because you don't know if you like it. Will go again. Thanks to the team here.

wouldn’t go there if your with a group i went with some friends and the waitresses were instantly rude and not approachable, they forgot and messed up many of our orders of drinks and food. Food was so overpriced for what it’s worth, not happy with it at all

Great pub location close to knepp. Easy walking distance from the campsite and nice pub garden. Good food menu with enthusiastic servers. Were some mistakes with our order but they were rectified without much fuss.

Gastro Pub at the gates of Knepp Estate at Dial Post near HorshamIdyllic location of Olde World pub with very big village green out front. Limited parking on premises but lots on lane outsideInside is New Style Parlour" all very nice and cosy in winter. Small conservatory at front looked a nice touch to extend to smallish front bar.Only Two Ales offered. Staff made attempt to plug bottled or Camden Town Brewery beer from the CHILLED pump with almost zero uptake. Ugh. Which makes one wonder if they would do better offering a third Real Ale.Anyway Longman Best Bitter 4% at £5.20 a pint or Microbus Guest Ale a Goldmark Brewery from Arundel only a short hop away from the pub. A fine session ale. India Pale Ale dry hopped 4% at £5.20It was well received and full of flavour - a fine Sussex BreweryBoth were very well cellared and presented in peak condition no wonder we consumed over 20 pints as a group of these two.Ok so let's get to a comment. We were not especially welcomed even though we had booked ahead. Grumpy behind the bar saying if they knew we were 17 we could not have eaten inside and were treated rather briskly on service. We felt embarrassed and as if we were a Care Home Outing!!In the end we walked across the lane to drink our beer outside on the village green. Even then there was moaning from staff we cannot eat our sandwich on the green. In the end the Manageress relented. Afteral we had spent on beer

Stayed here for 2 nights last week. The room was very nicely decorated and clean. After a long journey we were looking forwards toa nice drink in the bar, however when we arrived the pub itself was closed !! so we just had water and coffee in our room. The bar opened at 18:00 so we went down for a drink and a meal. I wasn't keen on the choice of ales, didn't like them at all, but that is a personal thing so no issues there. The menu is quite small but the food arrived quickly and was nice. You have to order breakfast at the bar and pay separately for this.Breakfast is delivered to your door in a hamper. The rooms are small as it is an old building and to be honest there is nowhere to properly sit down and take your breakfast so we ended up sitting on the bed.Breakfast cost £10pp. £10 for a bowl of cereals or porridge and a small amount of orange juice along with a piece of bread and butter and jam.Definitely not value for money.Room service was poor, the owner entered our room to replenish the coffee etc which was appreciated. However the bed was left unmade!! Whilst this is a first world problem I agree after paying over £250 for a 2 night stay surely this would be a pre requisite. It wasn't an unpleasant stay but we would not stay here again.
