I Worked at this care home for 3 years, amazing staff! Also management pushed me towards my goals! Thank you all for everything!

My dad is a resident there and I have witnessed serious safe guarding issues. I have repeatedly told staff my concerns and they have always said that they will look into it. My problem is that this home has declined since dad was there. My father's health and wellbeing has also deteriorated since living there. Apart from clothes going missing or not being ironed and packed away, my dad's room constantly smells of urine. He has a catheter and I have been there many times and have had to empty it myself. His toenails are never cut although he is diabetic and I have asked them to stay on top of it. I have even left monies there for them to pay for the service. Today I was called at 7:30am and informed that my father was taken to hospital. No carer went with him. My dad couldn't communicate as advised by the home, but nobody went with him. When I picked up the message and called the home I was told that he had left at 7:30 in an ambulance, but when I got to the hospital I was advised that he was admitted at QE at 7:30. Why was I not informed that my dad was sick before an ambulance was called? Why was he sent to the hospital by the home when they knew he couldn't communicate with hospital staff? I spoke to a louise today who advised me that there was no record of his lip being swollen and busted, but the doctor's at the hospital said it would have been a few days old. I was not notified .The care home is leaving residents with living difficulties to take care of themselves it seems. On arrival to the hospital I found my dad in AE totally confused .his mouth was full of dinner that he probably ate the day before. The home is aware that he has issues swallowing food but nothing was done about it. Please keep your loved ones away from this care home.

I worked at this care home for my work placement. I would have enjoyed it actually considering that i like to help people and am interested in field of dementia, however there was this one woman, who made my time here absolutely dreadful. I used to dread waking up to come here and it honestly felt like a chore. I was trying my best; setting out the dining area, cleaning up after them, feeding them, serving food, doing activities with residents such as bingo or puzzles, and talking to them, but she'd always have a snide remark to make, or comment on how i'm sitting down with one of the residents and not doing anything. Quite frankly, this care home lacks in the activities they provide for their residents, and also i couldn't do a lot (which was advised by the manager) since i am not trained in things like manual handling. This woman is a care assistant, and i found it extremely rude of her to constantly look down on me. Also i was just starting my work placement when she started talking to me in a rude manner, and expecting me to know everything i had to do on the first few days. If there was really something wrong in the way i was working with the residents, the care manager would have told me. On the other hand, most of the care home staff were nice and provided me guidance, and thanks to the manager who showed me around the care home. The care home is pretty decent, and has things in place which would be needed in case of emergencies. The residents were also very nice and i was grateful that they decided to share their stories with me.

I Had a horrible time working there. The staff meaning the care assistants was not friendly to work for. poor management. Poor working area for a kitchen assistant.Didn't suit me and I left in just over a month of working there.
