Quick summary - I came here two days ago for the removal of an impacted wisdom tooth. It's now infected and I had to go back to my dentist, pay a fee to be seen and for antibiotics - as they didn't offer any form of prophylaxis at Dakatra. The whole experience felt rushed and brutal, I wouldn't recommend it.Pro's: quick referralCon's: very limited interaction with dentist; no advice on signs of infection; very busy environment; very rough handling!A week ago my dentist referred me for an impacted wisdom tooth which was below the gum line - it appeared to be pushing into another root and he thought may need removal but suggested referral to get their view.I got a speedy referral to Dakatra who booked me in very quickly. I arrived on time - there were 8 people waiting to be seen (plus many others with them) so no space to sit down. People were complaining they hadn't been checked in.I waited about an hour and then had an x-ray. The dentist took a look and then asked me what I thought and if he should take it out! I don't know - you're the expert! I said to proceed as no one flagged any other cause of the problem. He checked if I had any allergies or health conditions and that was the full extent of our conversation! He was clearly in a rush to catch up with the queue in the waiting room.He gave me local anaesthetic - which was roughly injected in, my dentist is much more careful. While waiting for it to numb I heard other people wailing and crying in the other bays (no doors so feels quite exposed), so I was pretty nervous when he got to me! After some pretty rough handling, he very quickly removed the tooth. He was very rough but did get it done. Two stitches and it was over. The nurse told me the aftercare which was just ibuprofen. Some basic info on rinsing and avoiding hot food. No antibiotics and no advice on signs of infection to look out for!For a below gum extraction I would have thought a single prophylactic dose would have been given, but it wasn't. Instead after 48 hours of increasing swelling (that has spread to my eye, nose and neck) I saw my regular dentist who quickly gave me antibiotics - thankfully. Albeit at additional cost.

Although one hardly ever calls going to the dentist a 'pleasure', I'll risk and say it was a wonderful experience from start to finish.Got referred to have my wisdom tooth extracted. It was my first time at Dakatra. I received a warm welcome, quick and efficient diagnostics (I got an x-ray to see the full picture), a very thorough explanation of the treatment, and finally - a painless extraction. I'm not a dentist but I could tell my tooth wasn't an easy one - but Dr Yalda and Nurse Elena are simply amazing at their job!I cannot thank enough for the help I received. I would definitely recommend Dakatra to anyone who needs dental help :).

Visited the Parkview Practice last Friday. Had damaged teeth and a lot of roots extracted in one visit. My thanks to Eleanor and Tarik Shembesh for the excellent work they carried out. Highly recommended.

I was referred to Oral Surgery 161 Bromley Road (Oral Surgery is a sister company of Dakatra I believe and has a clinic in Rotherhithe) by my dentist because of a problem with a wisdom tooth which needed to be extracted. On arrival the “charming” receptionist seemed to have difficulty finding my appointment then said oh it’s Oral Surgery they only rent rooms here, don’t know how long you will have to wait. The problem with my wisdom tooth was the proximity of the nerve. I was x-rayed then given two injections of anaesthetic. Once numb the dentist began what I can only describe as the worst experience of dentistry in my life. I thought with the “proximity of the nerve” that a gentle careful approach would be used. Instead the dentist began jabbing the dental instrument into my mouth, wrenching it back and forth obviously trying to remove the tooth. He eventually managed to remove part of the tooth then the wrenching, jabbing and prising began again. Thankfully I was numb but the violent wrenching and jabbing at my tooth and gum was most distressing. Finally it was over and I sat somewhat shell shocked whilst the assistant droned on about after care, most of which I didn’t hear or absorb. I thought this company was supposed to practice professional dentistry.

My response to when I got that extraction today.. THAT WAS QUICK! The surgeon there was friendly and polite, can’t remember he’s name but thank you for the service! Didn’t even take 2 mins, was highly shocked but happy it’s happened. Much appreciated and thank you to the staff there as well, they greeted with care and so efficient. Well recommended!
